“Cashier seemed to have a problem with Me grabbing some brown bags. She asked if I wanted the groceries bagged in brown bags after I grabbed a few from the register on the other side. It seemed like like she was trying to make sure I didn't take any extra, which is wild because a lot of the times the cashiers bag one pack of noodles in 50 plastic bags. I'm exaggerating...but not really...but I constantly see cashiers here and at many other groceries stores use excessive amounts of plastic bags when bagging groceries. Like double plastic bagging plasic gallons of juice and milk with actuall handles is absolutely ridiculous.

I am grateful that Giant Eagle offers brown bags because I Am environmentally consciouse and wish more people bagged brown and honestly wish all stores stopped using plastic bags. But to be made to feel like I was stealing brown bags is disrespectful, especially when I'm more than likely going to spend 500 dollars on a loaf of bread, some milk and a bag of lunch meat. Exaggerating again....but not really.....I don't think a few extra brown bags should be an issue.

The stores already feel unpersonal because there are more automated/ai cashiers than people cashiers and seems like employees, so let's have a training opportunity that the few human cashiers left don't make long term customers,who have spent probably waaaay more than hundreds of thousands at giant eagle over their life span fee like vagabonds and theifs over a few extra paper bags. When I start to feel like a peasant begging for porridge as free will paying customer anywhere I make Myself scarce 🤷🏽”
