“A must-see for bibliophiles ! Charming shop exterior in a charming neighborhood. As you open the door, it’s as if you have jumped down the rabbit hole into a fairytale store from generations past. As you walk through the store, room opens to next room, which seem to keep going and going. Hundreds of books, used and new, interesting architecture with beautiful carpets and artsy furniture giving many spots to stop and peruse whichever title has caught your eye once removed from the captivating environment. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Escapist in the most reassuring way. Will be back!”
“Cute little small town book store. Great variety of books available. Clearance section in the back has heavily discounted books as well. Cute selection of puzzles and toys also available for the younger readers. Love that this book store has multiple floors. This place is definitely a hidden gem in the city!”
“It is a very nice Jewish store apart from everything, they took good care of us. I bought the Torah there in Spanish and Hebrew and my girlfriend bought a menorah and candles.”
“Mac’s Backs is an excellent, excellent bookstore. If you want to drop in and buy a good book, you can do that here with zero effort, because Suzanne et al curate the selection with a vengeance. All killer, no filler, as the kids say (I think they say that. I don’t really know any kids).
Here’s the other, deeper thing: if there was some kind of UNESCO Heritage Site designation - but for Cleveland - Mac’s Backs would have that status. This place is a critical piece of the city, one of the reasons Cleveland can say with a straight face that it offers cultural amenities comparable to larger metros. The staff has a genuine and deep knowledge of local literary history as well as being broadly well read; the whole operation is unique and irreplaceable.
PS: quick plug for their website, which makes it easy to find and order books for pickup or ship elsewhere as needed. There literally could not be an easier way to spend your money with a place that’s wildly deserving of it.”
“Wish there was one in Akron but worth it to make the drive! Sell your books and pick up more yo fill the void. They have a great variety of selection, even new release books. You'll be hard pressed to not find something here”
“A lovely spot with a good selection for book lovers, a trendy crowd, and everyone in between. A great place to stop in and grab a few things.Good options for gifts, children's books, some antique items, and up and coming authors. A charming staff and I will be coming back :)”

“Great inventory from apparel to daily school suppies. They could have better selection of CWRU apparel, especially name brands like Nike and UA. I also like low profile Nike hats, and it's hard to find any low profile hats here. Otherwise good selection and 10% off for CWRU employees (not valid for students).”
“This antique store is comprised of two store fronts, and the basement for each store front. The selection is electric, something for everyone. This store is more slanted towards objects (decor, hardware, books, photos, magazines, etc.) than vintage clothing. The prices are very reasonable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking is on the street or the city owned Coventry garage a block and a half south.”
“Great customer service is what I just received! Kudos to Maricela! You made the ordering experience easier because you were willing to listen, pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for selecting this beautiful arrangement!”
“Small group of us attended the evening service as well as the Basics Conference @Parkside,it was wonderful... True reminder for us to get back to the basics, the word, prayer, fellowship, standing firm in a world that is upside down. We are not to forget our wives for the sake of ministry!!! There was wonderful music and a few punches to the face and gut to awake us from neutral to get us moving toward Christ. Thank you Parkside Church for hosting what is so greatly needed.”
“This isn't your average used bookstore. I stopped by Paper Peddler's Out of Print Books to look around. It is a little hard to find, and the sign was a little faded which made it look like it might have closed - but don't let that deter you. They were stocked with all sorts of old books, magazines, papers, sheet music, and posters. Much of it seemed over 100 years old. I almost bought a book on craniofacial surgery from 1904. I looked at a Harper's magazine from the 1870's and Good Housekeepings from the 1930's. Prices were reasonable and the woman at the front of the store was very friendly.”
“It had everything I would ever need during school a new keyboard, so much merch, and books galore. I got the full set of lotr in leather!!! They even had a sale! 10/10 would go back whenever I could!”
