“Different nurseries are fine and good around town for different kinds of plants or trees or gardens or landscaping. And some are really good at different aspects and might be closer to home. But this Oakland original location has anything and everything for this kind of stuff. And the quality is consistently better overall. Worth the extra trip when you need something particular.”

“As a very experienced plant murderer, I was a little nervous going into Stump. I had a LOT of questions and needed their expertise and guidance on which plants would be easiest for me to keep alive, etc. It was SUCH a great experience, and the plant expert who helped me was so patient and kind. He helped me pick two large plants that are easy to care for, fit the environments of my home they’ll be in, and he wrote out care cards for each one! He even helped me load them into my car. Truly such a great customer experience here, and I will gladly make the 30+ minute drive to buy my plants from Stump from now on!”

There are a lot of employees, but most are not knowledgeable about plants, just ask at the register and they will get someone who can answer your questions.”

“I LOVE THIS STORE!! I have only shopped at the King Avenue location. It is always stocked with so many different varieties of perennials and annuals. They also have beautiful pots of all shapes and sizes. House plants and decorative items as well.
They have plenty of pre made and stunning flower pots if you just want to buy something lovely and sit it in your porch or patio. Easy peasey!
This visit, I was buying for my front porch and front steps for Fall mums, cornstalks, pumpkins and mini and giant, fancy squash.
Let me just tell you… SO HAPPY! What a selection!
We’ve had these for 3 weeks and look how fresh, vibrant and healthy it all still looks. Some mums haven’t even opened up all the way yet.
We bought two mumbos (3 color mix) and they are so gorgeous.

“Shawnee Hills Strader's is my local garden center. I've been coming here for 5 years. Today when I showed up they were training new folks and I announced that I wanted to buy several products to amend my raised garden beds. The employees in the know about raised bed gardening told me that I only really needed 1 of those products and steered me in the right direction. It cost me less money, and they got less of a sale, but the fact that they care is huge. It's why I keep coming back and don't go to the national chains.”

“I just needed some superglue today for a small repair. Parked and began to walk in the store when an employee who appeared to be on break outside asked me if he could help find something. Told me where the glue was and I knew where it was before even walking into the store. Didn't catch his name but he was older and wore a big brown coat.”
“They're great. It's always easy to find someone when you need help, and the staff is very friendly. The service desk employees go above and beyond to make sure that they resolve any issues. Now I find out they offer free delivery on some items? Amazing. It's super helpful when you have a booked schedule and only have a day at most to take care of some projects. Suddenly you can take your little evening downtime to put together list and poof, it's all there when you need it without spending hours getting there, searching around and getting back. I love shopping there, but the online experience is clutch.

“Everything was very well organized. The website was very helpful. We were looking for a specific product that was not at another Home Depot location (closer to us). The website directed us to this particular location and even had the aisle number on the website too. We found it very quickly and check out was super quick (self-check out). The only thing they need to fix is that one side of the building (outside) was covered in trash, the other side by the flowers was well-taken care of. One side of the building could just use some TLC. Overall, not a bad visit though, they had a lot of product and were very organized inside.”
“Very helpful in loading my mulch even though I had to wait a while for someone to come. I usually do it myself but had just had surgery so had to be at the mercy of others this year. Other years they have loaded 20-30 bags of mulch and soil in the truck. I like being able to pay inside and drive thru and they load it outside after looking at your receipt! Keeps me from overturning a cart inside as I attempt to push a heavy cart around with a few flowers ?”

“My daughter and I came into the Home Depot on Grener in Columbus, Ohio right before closing. We were desperate to find a tool to cut a ring off my daughters finger, as it was stuck and she needed to remove all jewelry before her wisdom teeth extraction in the morning. While everyone was kind and gave suggestions, Scott stepped up and took us right to the tool section and helped us pick “THE TOOL” to snip the ring right off her finger. “I had a very disappointing experience with the Lowe's which is up the road. So I came here and a very nice young lady named Olivia helped me to buy my new very lightweight weed wacker. :) I am still grumpy with the local Lowe's and am so happy that there is a very nice alternative. And home Depot also gives a veteran/military discount similiar to the one that Lowe's offers. Thank you for the GREAT customer service. I will be back. I got a great deal...my new weed wacker was under a hundred bucks! The one that I had purchased from Lowe's was MUCH heavier and broke after just a few uses...evil thing..haha. Working with that stupid thing caused me so much stress. I am so excited to try this new lightweight battery operated one! :)”
