“I went into Maurice’s in the Quinte Mall Belleville yesterday. I was drawn in by an outfit in the window, no intentions of buying anything, just wanted to look. I was quickly greeted by Nicole. I ended up not really liking the pants I saw in the window but Nicole asked me if she could show me some new styles that had just come in. I agreed and she hooked me up with a variety of jeans to try. She was very attentive and helpful…. I ended up buying 6 pairs of jeans and a top. I usually have good experiences here but today was exceptional thanks to Nicole ?”
“Winners is still a store that I enjoy visiting because you never know what you are going to find. The selection is usually quite large, and there are still some good deals to be had if you are willing to spend the time browsing. The store carries a wide variety of clothing, shoes, home goods, and seasonal products, which is part of what has made it popular for so many years.
That said, it is hard not to notice how much things have changed. The prices are no longer as attractive as they used to be, yet the overall selection and quality do not always seem to have improved to justify those increases. In particular, I remember the shoe department having better brands, better quality, and stronger value than it does today. The same can be said for children's clothing, where the selection does not seem as exciting or as affordable as it once was.
What is interesting is that Winners was originally seen as a discount retailer where people could find premium products at bargain prices. Today, it feels like more and more Canadians are relying on stores like Winners simply because regular retail stores have become too expensive. In many ways, that says as much about the current economy as it does about the store itself. While I still enjoy shopping here and occasionally find some great items, the value proposition is not quite what it used to be. I miss the days when a trip to Winners felt like discovering truly exceptional deals rather than just slightly lower prices than traditional retail.”

Julie was friendly, patient, and very professional while assisting me at checkout. She made the process quick and smooth while still taking the time to ensure everything was correct. Her positive attitude and willingness to help really stood out and made the visit enjoyable. Employees like Julie truly make a difference in the overall shopping experience.”

“I wanted to take a moment to show our gratitude towards Janet from the Belleville location. Tonight I needed to purchase various items for my co-op uniform. Janet was in the work boot area and offered her assistance. Janet was knowledgeable in the style of boot that I needed and found a pair that I actually liked. Next Janet took us over to the clothing department, not her department, and proceeded to find me clothes that I needed and actually liked. She was also helpful in finding us the best deal in the store and quality products. Janet went above and beyond what we expected for our assistance. Without her I would not have what I have now and our night would have been successful without her.

“My husband leukemia, so we celebrated a very special 8 year wedding anniversary on August 1 2020. We contacted the Boathouse to make a reservation... even though they don't normally do reservations with huge lines just to get in the door, they heard our story and went above and beyond to reserve a private table waterside just for us and our 2 service animals. The staff, manager and owner should be recognized for their kindness and compassion... accommodating us when they didn't need to. Everything we perfect! The menu is extensive with creative takes on seafood classics. The food and drinks are outstanding! The atmosphere in the restaurant and on the patio overlooking the marina was special and memorable... that is hard to find anywhere. All I can say is thank you so very much for being part of our very special anniversary. We are lifelong customers now!”
