“One of my favourite things about Ontario are the small towns and the many shops which support the community. The Cobden Freshmart is one of those which provides all the basics, and then some, of what you need in grocery. The staff are friendly and courteous and prices are what you’d expect for a small town grocery store.”

“This is a blast from my past as my Aunt Carmel lives down the block from this icon(her home burnt down but Cousin Suzanne currently resides on the land. My mom, Teresa Season(Mitton) grew up in the "Valley," and we would make summer treks with the family back to her valley. We would always have a visit with Aunt Carmel and cousin Suzanne and were given a nickel or dime to make a special candy or icecream purchase. The proprietor has many glass and other collectables and enjoys sharing all the stories or artifacts. It is a must to stop here if you are travelling to the caves or having a dip in the Bonnchere River( as my Mom always did) They have fresh hot cinnamon buns(11am) and other food items as well as a fully stocked grocery store. So happy it is still viable as the Douglas Hotel is no more :(”
