68 Princess St, KingstonWe saw this place just walking around this beautiful old capital of Canada. Night fell and we went with our guts and went here for dinner. Was the best dinner out of our holidays. We both got the steak and it was perfect. The staff were so nice, food came fast and was so cozy and warm.

I’ve had a few food items on their menu, I will proudly say the lamb was incredible and worth the price. They close at 3 most days so if you work or sleep in the hours are tough.

6 Princess St, KingstonWe held our St. Brigid's Day Ceili there last Sunday. Alli was very helpful in arranging the date, time and section of the restaurant that was for us exclusively. It was a miserable day but the staff was amazing. Given the weather we were about the only group in the restaurant so it was very quiet. Very attentive and prompt service. Food was excellent and served quickly. We take over a lot of space but staff was very accommodating in letting us move chairs around and setting up our information table. They even provided the sound technician for our musicians. Highly recommend The Merchant!!
This was our 6th or 7th Ceili there and we have been treated equally well every time.

Can't go wrong with any of their dishes, but try their Eggs Dianne! Never knew fish cakes could be so good!! Their tacos were amazing as well! Would absolutely return for those fish cakes, and to try out the rest of their menu!
