The guy sharpening the skates got them done for us quickly.Madison was very helpful getting skates that fit properly, and the right helmet. “I don’t ask for favours- quite the opposite.But today I wondered into Sportchek Georgetown with my daughter wearing her newest shoes, with laces falling apart. I found a pair of similar looking laces and asked a very nice and helpful young assistant if they would fit. He helped me find an appropriate size, as I mentioned the shoes were still like new and if he had seen laces fall apart with this shoe before. He concurred they looked new and recommended I tell the manager. I had a quick introduction to Tom the store manager, and explained my situation and to see if this was a regular occurrence. He opened the packaging on the laces and said Merry Christmas! I said I’m not looking for a favour, but he insisted. I am very appreciative of his kindness and generosity and felt it necessary to publicly acknowledge the kind gesture Tom and his store represent. “I have 3 girls that have been going to GDC for many years and we couldn't be happier. Girls are thriving in more ways than one. Great teachers with an amazing ability to push the kids to the best of their abilities, while developing positive relationships with the entire team. The environment is very welcoming and all the families develop a special bond due to the tight knit community feel that GDC promotes and nurtures. Highly recommend for both the recreational programs and competitive teams. Highly skilled staff, super welcoming and supportive families, and most importantly the kids develop lifelong friendships with other dancers.”
