“I only go to this location for dog licenses but have never needed any other services from the SPCA . My review is based on the service of the employees at the license portion of the building. I have always been met with friendly,helpful service. The location is very good being in a quiet area of the city and there is always plenty of parking.”

Showed up unexpectedly thinking that it was a storefront but it is a warehouse and he had no problem helping us out and made sure we still left with the items we were looking for. “I really appreciate the people who work hard at making this store a success. Their prices are more than reasonable! Their knowledgeable and experience both in and out of the store is exemplary. They don’t try to sell you a pet to just make a buck. They will try to make sure you understand what you are getting yourself into. I got my two conures from them and they are happy and in good health! I always go back to them when I need anything; including grooming. If I ever need to find a place to board them, I know my babies will be in good hands with them.”
“The products at this store are awesome, and the staff is even better! They are always so friendly and genuinely nice. They are very knowledgeable and make excellent recommendations for products that are specific to each pup. I love that they can look up what you bought in the past and can remind you of what your pup liked or didn't like. We are regulars and highly recommend them.”
“Called ahead and the employee was incredibly helpful and looked up stock for me. When we purchased a life jacket for our mini aussie it didn't fit right because of his odd proportions. They let us return and exchanged it for a size up. Great customer service all around. Store is well stocked with many items I've never seen at other chains.”

“Great pet shop. Well kept with great selection of healthy quality cat foods. Trying to transition my kittys from dry to wet food. After researching foods with healthy natural ingredients, I located what I was looking for here. Owner helped me out with my requirements. I found him to be caring and knowledgeable about the well being of my cats. I intend to make this my go to pet store. I suggest you do the same and try it out!”

“I had gone for a grooming service for my 7 month pup Romeo. I am dissatisfied with the hair style Chris gave though he had put in the work and covered all the areas that needed to be done. His work was thorough. But my puppy’s face looks so bad right now I dont recognize him. I had clearly requested him by showing a picture for reference even, to leave my pups muzzle hair on. But he decided to go ahead and trim it down to zero. Sharing my dogs before and after pics. I am giving 3 star coz Chris decided my dogs look for me, which sucks.”
“I don’t have any pets but wanted to pick up a gift for my girlfriend’s mom’s cat. I happened across this pet store while driving down Upper James and I’m so glad that I did. When I explained to the store owner that I didn’t know anything about cats, but that I wanted to impress my gf’s mom, he was quick to point me in the direction of the most impressive treat I could get. He was so knowledgeable and attentive. Not only that, the treat was a BIG hit with the mom.”

I had such a great experience at Pet Valu today. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The store is very well stocked and well maintained, making it easy to find everything I needed.
One of the features I absolutely love is their dog washing station, where you can wash your dog yourself, it’s so convenient and well set up! I believe they may also offer dog washing services by appointment, so it’s worth inquiring about that. There’s even a grooming station at this location, making it a one stop shop for pet care.
On top of all this, their prices are very reasonable compared to other pet stores I’ve been to. The combination of excellent service, great amenities, and fair pricing makes this Pet Valu location a standout. Highly recommend them.
A bonus as well is that there’s lots of free parking and wheelchair accessible parking and entrance making getting all your pets needs convenient”
