“Nous avons fait une visite qui restera gravée dans nos mémoires la semaine dernière, en plus de toutes les œuvres d'art visuel qui sont remarquables, nous avons été séduites par l'œuvre auditive présentée à la chapelle Rideau à l'intérieur du Musée. Se retrouver à l'intérieur d'une telle œuvre chorale c'est renversant et inoubliable merci mille fois”

“Beautiful building, great venue. Attended a music conference there and each room is so unique. Getting around the building can be confusing but you figure it out quickly. Convenient location right by rideau and the market.”
“The Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) is a vibrant cultural hub showcasing a rich collection of contemporary and historical Canadian art. Located in the heart of downtown Ottawa, the gallery offers a dynamic space where creativity, community, and cultural expression come together.
One of the highlights of the OAG is its dedication to local and Indigenous artists, featuring works that reflect the region’s artistic heritage and diverse voices. The Firestone Collection of Canadian Art is particularly impressive, housing iconic pieces from the Group of Seven and other notable Canadian painters. The rotating exhibitions ensure there is always something new and thought-provoking to explore.
The gallery’s modern design, with bright, open spaces, enhances the experience of viewing the artwork. Interactive and multimedia installations add an engaging element, making the visit enjoyable for art lovers of all ages. The OAG also hosts workshops, talks, and community events, making it a lively and inclusive space for both artists and visitors.
Another great aspect is that admission is free, making art accessible to everyone. The friendly staff and well-curated exhibits make it easy to spend hours appreciating a variety of artistic styles and themes. Whether you are a seasoned art enthusiast or just discovering your passion for visual arts, the Ottawa Art Gallery is a must-visit destination.”
“Wonderful gallery! I've shown my work here several times and it is always a positive experience. The staff are friendly and great to work with, and I love how inclusive the gallery is. Highly recommend!”
“We have bought several paintings from Koyman Galleries over the last few years. We like the range and selection of Canadian artists they represent and find Eddie very personable, knowledgeable, and honest in his feedback and advice.”

“The best collection of Canadian contemporary craft and art in Ottawa and the region. Showing artists from across Canada, the gallery owner, Lisa, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the carefully curated selection of quality pieces on display. A must visit for anyone interested in art and culture!”
“One of the most beautiful places I have seen in Ottawa. Featuring magnificent works by Canadian artists. The doors of the art bank only open once a year, so I advise you not to miss the visit and to take your children there if you have them too and those initiated into the beauties of art .”

“Couldn’t visit the Ranger so the review is just for the structure.
It is a beautiful structure but due to the construction around it, hard to get a good view without distractions”

“Nestled in the heart of Ottawa on Sussex Drive, this charming art gallery is an absolute treasure waiting to be discovered. During my recent visit to the city, I stumbled upon this delightful space and was completely enamored by its unique charm. From the bright and luminous atmosphere to the warm and welcoming owners, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. The first thing that struck me as I entered the gallery was the abundance of natural light that flooded the space. The large windows overlooking Sussex Drive offered an incredible view of the bustling city, creating a perfect backdrop for the stunning art on display. The gallery's ambiance is inviting and evokes a sense of tranquility, making it an ideal escape from the city's hustle and bustle. What truly sets this gallery apart is the warm and welcoming demeanor of its owners. Their genuine smiles and willingness to engage in meaningful conversations about art added a personal touch to the entire experience. Their passion for the art they showcase is palpable, and it's evident that they take great pride in curating a diverse and captivating collection. The art featured in this gallery is a testament to the owners' dedication to offering something for everyone. This makes art appreciation an attainable and enjoyable experience for visitors of all backgrounds, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. As I left the gallery, I couldn't help but promise myself that I would return. My visit to this art gallery was a serendipitous discovery that made my time in Ottawa even more memorable. It's an oasis of creativity in the heart of the city, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a unique and enriching artistic experience. “On Sunday I dropped in for a quick look at the Inuit carvings and mentioned to an employee that I had chipped a carving....she told me the owner might be able to fix it. The owner spoke to me and said next time I was coming downtown to contact him and he would look at it .......so three days I call the store and his assistant has him answer the phone and he tells me he would be there all day and bring the carving......he fixed the chip to make it look like new within 5 to 10 minutes and did not want any money......he said next time......Little did he know that 49 years ago I bought my first carving from his store when it was located on Elgin St. (The carving he fixed was not bought at his store.....)It is easy to understand why he is still in business.....”

“Small ground floor gallery in Byward market on Dalhousie street with resident artists as well as assortment of various paintings and a few sculptures.Due to artist copy right concerns, no photos of their art work will be photo here.Their collection can be eclectic but if you are like me, you bound to find a few works that speak to you.Staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable as I inquired about a few of the paintings that were of interest to me. They were able to recount the artists focus and intentions of the paintings and some less notable details that only curateurs would know.I do recommend walk further than the main gallery and go the back and behind the separating wall. There are more art pieces with diverse styles and genre that may tickle your interest.Lovely.”

“I was surprised to find that they had the exact sized frame that I needed, ready made! They were so lovely and as they put the artwork into the frame for me (thanks), I browsed the store. I loved everything. It's the perfect store to buy a unique gift. I'm going back to have an old print framed as I trust in this company 100%.”

“I was traveling and won a large framed piece of art during a raffle. Wallacks was helpful as they packed and shipped the item to my home in the US. When the package arrived, it was packed perfectly, and in mint condition. The cost was very reasonable, however, it took longer than expected. If you need to ship art, I highly recommend the Wallacks team.”
“I love this dog park and I highly recommend it! Super convenient and close to home. It's the first time that I go to a dog park where you can bring a ball/Frisbee and there's no fight: dogs are all playing/running together. My only concern is that it would be great to eventually have grass everywhere instead of asphalt. Also, a double door would be better for dogs safety :) I understand that this area used to be a basketball court but it seems that it was never fully converted to a normal dog park.”
“This is a largely accessible space with consistently good work. The art descriptions could be slightly bigger to accomodate those with lower vision and using mobility devices. They are often hard to read.”
“I recently had such a great experience with this great family-owned business that I had to post. I brought in 3 challenging pieces:
1. A very large and somewhat irregular textile
2. A rolled up canvas painting that was quite wrinkled
3. A painting on rice paper.
Philip kept the shop open late to give me time to mix and match frames and mats and provided great insight into what colors and styles would match and hold up over time. He helped me price out frames that affordable. He had the work done in a week. The final products look great. We thought we wouldn't be able to save the oil painting, but he had it stretched out beautifully. He had the pieces wrapped nicely so they wouldn't be damaged in transit. When we realized the textile wouldn't fit in my car, he helped me drive it home in his van!
10/10 would recommend this business and will go back for future framing needs.”
