“A Great Dedicated To Maps StoreI brought my son here to this place so that he could choose his "birthday" present back in Sept 2023. This store offers a variety of maps and map-related merchandise, souvenirs, toys, globes, etc. I had come here before few years ago but the reception wasn't as great. However on my last visit staff were more friendly and assisted my son to find what he was looking for. I still recommend this place.”

“This is such a lovely place. There are so many neat zigegzeeahas, cards, cat stickers, notebooks, crystals and books. The staff are super friendly and will order any book in for you. They have quite the selection of titles and children's books, too.”

“Cute and well-stocked independent book store on Elgin. Many mainstream titles, wide selection of penguin classics and a decent children's section. There is also local merch on offer with unique items that you'll likely not find elsewhere. I appreciated some of the different decorative binding available on classic books (ie. linen-bound). They look super-sharp! Staff also seemed very friendly and eager to help if one wasn't able to find a title. We just popped in for a look as we thought it might have used books - it does not! :)”

“Lisa's shop is first class run by a first class human who cares about books and the people that read them. I introduced a young man to the shop who is very interested in Lenin and his writing and Lisa sent him home with enough Lenin to cover 13 square kilometres. Please support local! Please support independent book stores in Ottawa!”

“I’ve seen Britt twice for both of my children’s nursing challenges and I’ve seen several other lactation consultants as well. Britt stands head and shoulders above them all, providing detailed, informed advice. Both times I have wished that I had gone straight to her and not wasted my time with anyone else! She doesn’t make you feel rushed and is patient with all your questions. Both times, Britt has provided me with advice that relieved pain and discomfort and made feeding my babies a much more pleasant experience. I highly recommend her!”

“My very favourite bookstore in all of Ottawa. The book and puzzle selection is great and the staff are fantastic. Books on Beechwood is also amazing for ordering books that are harder to find/not the newest which is amazing. So happy to have such a wonderful bookstore in the neighbourhood!”

“Staff was friendly, space was very open and spacious. I find the overall selection of products fairly limited, though, it feels much more limited than the old location since they've moved.”

“Great selection of books and gift-able items at great prices. The service is very helpful and friendly. It's a smaller store and difficult for a wheelchair to maneuver, but the staff were so helpful and assisted customers that were having difficulty navigating the tight turns with their wheelchair. The store is clean and very well organized.”

“This is a great bookstore and gift shop, just make sure you confirm the hours before you head down. Candles, books, pendants, crucifixes, statutes - even some rosaries and scapulars. There's also a small kids section.Make sure you do what you can to support this store to support St. Pat's and ensure the bookstore can continue to operate in the future.”

“I was pretty flustered because of a misunderstanding regarding different editions of the same book. Staff took the time to explain everything to me and helped me find what I needed for a course. They are knowledgeable and professional, and I'm happy to continue getting my university books there.”

“Love the ambience and quiet, slow atmosphere being surrounded by all these historic books. It's really almost like time-travel. I'm a bit sad that they didn't have the hard-to-find books I've been searching for but I do like the friendliness of the staff and the overall feel of the place! Parking's also not unreasonably priced!”

“Amazing book store. Massive political and philosophical sections, an adorable cat and a unique and captivating overall space. Scott is a fantastic person to speak to about so many different topics and I will continue to support for as long as I possibly can”

“A neat store, great staff, only problem is everything is pricey there. Even the books professors choose are pricey while there are better textbooks and free resources. They could provide custom resources printed, but they aren't doing it. Probably doing it for the commissions, and giving students a run for their money. While AI is flourishing and are better at explaining things in a language level and fluidity one wants without any ill intentions, I don't really see the need of these pillow sized textbooks to be distributed to every student's. Maybe professors can use them as resources to build custom printed copyright free textbooks for a 10-12 week classes by holding onto the insight that students are not just taking one course per semester and be a bit considerate about the course load while preparing them. Accept innovation and integrate it into learning.”
