Malenka Originals, now operated by Recreated Designs at 1098-B Somerset Street West in Ottawa, offers a peaceful and welcoming store featuring quality products. Originally founded in 2012 by Katrina Barclay, the shop was a unique blend of workshop and retail space, where customers could learn about painted furniture and get inspired. The name "Malenka" means "little one" or "darling" in Ukrainian, honoring the founder's grandfather. After over ten years, the owner stepped away to pursue a new career, passing the business to an employee who renamed it Recreated Designs, keeping the same location and offerings. Customers appreciate the store for its friendly staff, great advice, and high-quality fusion milk and mineral paints. Some find the items a bit pricey, but feel they are worth the quality. The store is praised for its peaceful atmosphere and helpful service, including professional assistance with orders. Overall, Malenka Originals provides a great place for paint supplies and inspiration, with a reputation for friendly service and quality products.
