274 Bank St, OttawaAmazing experience, just like everyone said. I forgot to ask the staff member’s name, but the staff who helped me on Jan 2nd was incredibly helpful. I called before going to get my hamster, and he made sure I had everything prepared. He mentioned that dwarf hamsters need extra sand baths.
When I arrived at the store, the staff helped me pick my very first hamster and even let me hold them (which I wasn’t expecting because I was afraid the hamster might bite me), but it turned out really well.
The staff really seemed to care about the pets. When I mentioned I wanted to buy extra food, they told me I needed to buy food specifically for dwarf hamsters, also they love bok choy.
Overall, it was a great experience! My hamster has been home for a week now and runs on his wheel every night for over 4 km!

However, 5 stars is not NEARLY enough to express the awesomeness that is Diego, the current store manager! Right from the door open, he was kind, friendly, and had a fantastic energy! He answered my question with a solid amount of knowledge, and we even exchange a bit of social conversation! It's rare in today's climate to find a genuine good soul working retail, and this man is a credit to this Franchise. I'll definitely go back!

Purrdy Paws Pet Grooming Spa
732 Bank Street, OttawaAlana started grooming our fear reactive rescue dog, Donny, earlier this year and it’s truly been life changing. Donny has had a very difficult time with grooming in the past and has shown aggression to previous groomers and occasionally his grooming session was unable to be completed. Alana was our last stop before having to consider sedated grooming at the vet.
Since coming to Alana at Purrdy Paws Donny has been a completely different dog. He looks incredible after each groom and seems perfectly calm and happy. Alana has even been able to groom him with other dogs in the room which is something we NEVER thought was possible.
Maybe the best part is that Alana always has something nice to say about Donny. He isn’t always the most popular because of his spicy personality but she sees the best in him and makes sure we know she cares about and appreciates him, quirks and all!
I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Purrdy Paws and Alana. Would highly recommend.

Shrimp is very nervous and can be a difficult cat to work with, but Lisa took the time to get her comfortable and clean. Shrimp’s coat is so much softer and lighter! As a Maine coon things can get pretty hairy in our house, but she honestly looks like a kitten again with how much excess fur they were able to brush off of her. Not to mention how personable Lisa was. We had a lovely chat. Looking forward to our next appointment. This is the only place we will be going from now on!

Absolutely amazing pet shop! The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. The pet food selection was excellent, and the grooming service was amazing—my dog looked fantastic afterward! They even gave us some free samples, which was a really nice touch. They don’t push unnecessary test or procedures. They don’t rush you through. They answer all your questions thoroughly and are more knowledgeable in my opinion. I was shocked at the misinformation I had received at another vet. They treat your pet as a member of your family, your fur baby. They don’t pretend to care, I believe they truly do and it shows. I highly recommend and won’t go anywhere else from now on.

654 Montréal Road, OttawaI can't recommend Dr. Ramoutar highly enough. Dr. Ramoutar is absolutely incredible with my dog, Echo. From routine visits to unexpected emergencies, she has always gone above and beyond to make sure Echo receives the best possible care.
What has meant the most to us is that Dr. Ramoutar and Lee's willingness to help when unexpected situations arise. On more than one occasion, they've done everything they could to fit us in and ensure Echo had everything needed so we could safely travel together. Their compassion, flexibility, and genuine concern made what could have been incredibly stressful situations so much easier.
Dr. Ramoutar always takes time to answer questions, explains everything and makes both Echo and I feel cared for, and valued.
Thank you St. Laurent Animal Hospital, but especially Dr. Ramoutar and Lee for your exceptional care, dedication, and kindness.

Bytown Cat Hospital

From his first check-up and vaccinations, to getting him fixed, and finally helping with all the paperwork when I moved and imported him to another country, everyone was great. Over that time, he saw several vets here, and every one of them, as well as the vet techs and reception staff, was wonderful with him.
They were especially accommodating during my last month in Ottawa, helping me navigate the tight deadlines for import paperwork, CFIA forms, and vaccine requirements. For that in particular, I'm incredibly grateful, as they made what was otherwise the most stressful part of my move so much easier.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bytown Cat Hospital to anyone looking for excellent care for their cat.

As a student, I was extremely worried—not only about Mylo’s health, but also about how I would manage the cost of emergency care. The team listened to my situation with genuine compassion, treated me with respect, and made several exceptions to help us. They never made me feel judged or like my financial situation meant that I cared any less about my cat.
Their patience, kindness, understanding, and willingness to go above and beyond meant more to me than I can properly express. Knowing that Mylo was surrounded by people who truly cared gave me comfort during a frightening moment.
Thank you to every veterinarian, technician, receptionist, and staff member who helped us. I will always remember the humanity you showed me and the care you gave Mylo. I am sincerely grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend this hospital to anyone facing a veterinary emergency.
