“I’ve been doing functional fitness for a few years, but I never really stuck with a program long-term until I joined Mind Set. The methodology behind the program is top notch, pushes you to get stronger, more athletic, and improve your conditioning in a balanced way.
Since joining, I actually look forward to every session. The coaches are great, super knowledgeable, approachable, and they know how to push you without overdoing it.
I also like that your progress is tracked, the community is genuinely supportive, and the space itself is big (which makes a difference compared to some cramped gyms).
I love it. Highly recommend!”
“Getting tennis elbow was no fun. Shavaiz helped me through it. I looked forward to every session for relief of my elbow. He also emphasized exercise for recovery. Overall, a great place to go to take care of yourself!”
“I loooove this place! The owner is great and the trainers are 10/10. Highly recommend personal training here. The gym itself feels like a playground and is a fun environment to workout in. Very glad I found this place!”

“I came here with back pain that kept stopping me from lifting weights. I eased into the HIIT sessions using low weights and after 3-4 months now, I am the fittest version of me in the last 10 years and no back pain. Thanks Joanne!”
“I started working with Nick in Feb of this year. I'm thrilled with the progress I've made. As at least one other person has said, I am worked within my limitations but I am pushed to make progress. Pushed is the wrong word, really. Encouraged is really the correct one.I only make on visit a week. However, Nick will always explain to me how I can accomplish a similar exercise at home with the equipment I have there.I've received lots of compliments about the progress I've made - I stand straighter and my slouch has either been eliminated or is heading that way. My wife was so impressed that she has joined as well and is also pleased with what she is accomplishing.”
“We have been attending this box for almost a decade - now attended by two of our children on student memberships. There really isn’t another place that gives you a safe space like this to work out hard (or maybe sometimes not as hard) and cheer each other on like Canuck.”

“Really nice location. Space is a little tight but staff are incredibly kind. I met the personal training manager Jacob, and just a brief conversation on the floor was quite motivating. Not my local gym, but would definitely recommend!”
“I think it is one of the nicest location in Scarborough to have with quite some space and a good number of tredmill’s and cycles. I have never seen it untidy unless the rush hour which i generally avoid and workout early in morning or around lunch time. Never had any issue with parking, cleanliness in washroom or pool. Personally feels like second home because you know where your stuff is ❤”

Staff is good and they help out with the exercise plan for free, If you are new to gym an dont know how to workout, I would recommend this gym as its cheap and friendly.”

“Planet Fitness Scarborough North is a great gym for anyone looking for a clean, welcoming, and judgment-free workout environment.
The equipment is new and well-maintained. During morning hours I rarely had to wait for a machine. The staff is friendly and keeps the entire facility spotless, from the workout floors to the locker rooms. I highly recommend this location for students during summer break and beginners.”
“After years of going to regular gyms and then trying functional group training, I was ready to switch it up. CrossFit had always been something I wanted to try, but I was honestly nervous and intimidated by the idea. I finally decided to take a leap of faith and give it a shot, and I’m so glad I did!
The onboarding experience with Coach Sofi was such a fun and informative way to get started. She is truly a ray of sunshine ☀ — always ready to laugh and have fun, but she means business when it comes to helping you succeed. 💪 She does an amazing job teaching you the lifts, giving you perspective on what to expect, and making sure you feel prepared and confident walking into your first class.
And my first class? Amazing!! Everyone was so welcoming, and I was genuinely surprised when people were cheering me on during the final laps of conditioning. 🥹🥹That moment really showed me what makes Northern Touch CrossFit different.
The coaching is next level. Coach Diana and Coach Dave really zone in on each member during every class. I feel like I’ve learned more about proper form, technique, and training in my three months here than I have in 10–15 years of going to other gyms. And it doesn’t stop with the coaches — the owners and the other members are always willing to offer pointers, encouragement, and tips. You really do work together.
But honestly, the community is everything. Everyone is working at different levels and has different goals, but we’re all there together — laughing, encouraging each other, and sweating through the workouts. There’s no feeling like you have to be the strongest or fittest person in the room. You just show up, do your best, and become a little better each time.
If I could go back 10 years and give my younger self one piece of advice, it would be: **“Just do it!! You won’t regret it!!”**
I’m incredibly grateful I took that leap, and I couldn’t recommend Northern Touch CrossFit enough!”
