Metro Inc. is a prominent grocery store chain with over 600 locations in Quebec and Ontario. Established in 1947, it boasts annual sales exceeding $11 billion and employs more than 65,000 people. The company aims to provide excellent customer service and build long-term relationships with its shoppers.
Many customers appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, particularly at the self-serve checkout, creating a welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of a local shop. However, some reviews mention inconsistencies in service quality, with a mix of friendly and less accommodating employees. The bakery section is highlighted for having a particularly kind employee, praised for his helpfulness.
While the store offers a variety of groceries, including fresh produce and international foods, some shoppers find prices to be on the higher side. Specific items, like sushi, have been criticized for price increases without a corresponding improvement in quality. Nonetheless, customers continue to visit Metro for its convenient location and diverse product selection, often seeking out sales and essential items.
