“Super clean. Cute place. Great location that is walking distance to everything Astoria has to offer. We stayed at the Astor Building Gold Finger suite. It can get a little noisy with the road noise but they provide ear plugs. Also the Astor Building isn't just a hotel - full time residents also live there, just something to know as you'll hear them going about their day (or evenings). The staff at check in was super nice and let us check in a little early.”

“We had such a perfect day here.
Super nice host, Pam & Dave, great house, nice room, and delicious breakfast.
I could see their kindness and love every corner in the house. They put hot water for tea and hot choco. And you can save your leftover in the fridge in the living room.
Our room was River which had a great view, phew what a great and soothing bed, and hot water works so well. So we had great shower and bath.
Highly recommend and if we visit Astoria, we will stay here definitely again”

“We stayed one night here. The hotel is very nice inside, dinner was good. Very cozy and great aesthetic. We loved the fireplace in room and soaking tub as well. Our room was on the river view side so hearing the sea lions wasn’t a problem. However I am a light sleeper and I ended up utilizing the provided ear plugs at 0500 mostly due to the loudness of the water crashing below us against the pilings. One thing noted at checkout was an extra $14 “resort fee”….just include it in the price of the room instead of trying to advertise a lower room rate. Also, the TV would only allow us to watch one channel. If we tried to change it, it would just shut off.”

“Absolutely unlike anywhere else you have or will ever stay. We came here for a short honeymoon, and since my husband loves to fish, I figured he would enjoy a place right on the river. Located in the old Hanthorn Cannery, which shuttered in 2001, these rooms sit atop a unique slice of Astoria history. The museum one floor below is a treasure, full of artifacts pulled from other floors of the building to tell a story about the history of the cannery, adjoined with a donations and thrift-based gift shop full of odd treasures. My favorite part was the Cannery Workers' Memorial hallway, where former cannery workers signed their names on the walls.

We stayed in the First Mate's Suite and we could have spent all day in the room, watching enormous cargo ships go by on the Columbia River. The view alone is worth the cost. I was happy I brought my binoculars, as we spotted a few seals and so, so many sea birds. In the mornings, we enjoyed pastries and coffee from Coffee Girl, which is conveniently located downstairs.

There's nothing crazy fancy about the room, except that it's enormous. It's your standard issue hotel room, but I was fine with that--the price was reasonable, especially for Astoria, and the location is so unique that it's hard to argue. Plus, the beds and pillows were comfy, and the sea lions were busy mating in California, so we slept soundly. There's no turn-down service, so if you're the sort of person that needs a housekeeper to pick up your towels every day, this isn't the place for you. But we didn't need or want that, and it was a fantastic place to come crash at after a day spent exploring the area.

The upkeep on an old dock like this has to be insane, but it's a treasure, and I hope the owners are able to protect it. A+, we loved it, would stay here again.”

“Rooms are great. This is our third year. Our visit started off a little disappointing as for the second year in a row, the hot tub was broken. However, the staff kept us updated on repairs and even called our room to tell us it was fixed! It was up and running by our third night! Looking forward to next year's stay and would totally recommend to family and friends.”

“I'm not rating this is a 5 star motel, I'm giving it 5 stars for being a perfectly fine low cost motel. The rooms smell a little but funky but that's pretty much any motel.”

“Stayed there last week for 4 nights. we had an amazing time. The room had an amazing view and a balcony that we enjoyed sitting on, watching the birds and the boats. Yes, the rooms are a little older. That doesn't necessarily equate to a negative, however. It appears that attention has been paid (for the most part) to keeping things clean and repaired. The staff was very nice, the prices were very affordable, the motel was quiet, so sleeping wasn't an issue and the bed comfortable. The views were AMAZING. The breakfast was good and a special shout out to Marie (I think that was her name) who did an AWESOME job of keeping the breakfast bar stocked and clean. The young girl who checked us in on Friday night was also very helpful and kind.

We came from a distance but, if we ever make it back to Astoria, would stay there again.”

“We stayed in the Lincoln city motel 6 for 3 nights, it was awful. The place was filthy and smelled like dog. We came here and this place is AMAZING!! They staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very very clean. Best of all no pee stains on the mattress cover unlike the Lincoln city location that's thinks is perfectly normal. Sadly they've heard the same from other people.

Stay here its 100% better than Lincoln city.”
