“Always love my NGs! I loved the checkout area with the aisle of goodies trying to temp you and having the books up front is a great idea! Everyone was very nice and helpful! GREAT vegan selection!”
“I really appreciate having access to this kind of store because the selection of restaurant-quality supplies is just incredible. It is so helpful to be able to buy items in bulk that you just cannot find at a regular grocery store, and the staff have always been helpful whenever I needed help locating something specific. It is definitely a professional-grade shop, but for someone who loves to cook at home, it is a fantastic resource.”
“2 truths 1 lie
- Convenient location
- Good pricing
- I peed my pants in the bread aisle one time because I couldn't find the bathroom”
“This place is such a handy spot to pull over when you are out on the road. The store was clean and well-stocked with plenty of snacks and drinks to choose from. It is exactly the kind of place that makes a quick pit stop easy and stress-free. I would definitely swing by here again next time I am driving through the area.”
“One of my go to markets the essentials. Friendly and welcoming workers, very homely atmosphere. Decent prices, good selections. I actually prefer to get my fuel here also, sometimes cheaper and very much cleaner tanks since they revamped the pumps/tanks. Also they have non ethanol for all your small motors 'N' such.
+++ very recommended to anyone passing through.”
“We like this place as a stopping point for a treat or refreshment on the drive out or back from Arago. The staff is always friendly. It sort of a tradition to stop here. There is a wide variety of snacks, food, beverages and other gear for locals and travelers alike. Some souvenirs are available as well.”
“This is a great Mexican tienda. Lots of specialty products. The owners are knowledgeable and friendly. It’s great that such a small town has a store like this.”
“I mean it's a Fred Meyer there really isn't anything super special that stands out. Some of the employees are great and some of them aren't. As with any store like this.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
As a visitor from San Diego, I have to say McKay's Market on S. 7th Street is one of those grocery stores that makes you wish you had one back home.
The first thing that grabbed my attention was the produce department. It is an absolute work of art. Everything is beautifully displayed, pristine, organized, and meticulously stacked. Whoever is running that department is absolutely crushing it and clearly takes tremendous pride in their work. It may be one of the most impressive produce sections I've seen in a grocery store.
The rest of the store is equally impressive—clean, tidy, well-stocked, and filled with a fantastic selection of products. I also loved seeing McKay's branded merchandise throughout the store. It's a nice touch that reinforces the local community feel.
But the real MVP here is the fried chicken in the deli. Wow. That chicken is absolutely out of control—in the best possible way. Crispy, flavorful, and worth a trip all by itself. If you're shopping here and don't grab some fried chicken, you're doing it wrong.
I also learned that McKay's is 100% employee-owned, and honestly, it shows. Everyone I encountered was friendly, helpful, and seemed genuinely invested in providing a great customer experience. There's a level of pride throughout the store that you just don't see very often anymore.
Make sure to sign up for their rewards program and earn points while you shop.
I'm actually a little annoyed that we don't have a McKay's in San Diego because I'd be there all the time. Until then, this will be a mandatory stop every single time I'm in Coos Bay.
Highly recommended.”
“Nice, clean, relatively new Safeway with helpful staff. Pretty decent member deals on meat and eggs. I generally save 15%-30% at checkout and $.25 at the pump from my points.”

“Very kind and helpful. The staff is always so busy and hard at work yet still stay patient and are knowledgeable. They've gone above and beyond when an Rx is needed urgently.”
“I recommend this place when all other options are spent, They will help you with your current problems but they are not caseworkers nor hit-men, They are nice people that will help you any way they can,”

“Amazing Butter Chicken at American Market. My husband and I stopped in and got some ready-made Indian food meals from their cooler... delicious ?. The young man working the register was very polite and friendly. He welcomed every person who stepped through the door and asked them how they were doing. I will definitely be returning.
I happen to LOVE Indian food and music, and I am picky as hell, lol.
Unfortunately, they have had to deal with a good amount of racism (as can be seen by others' low reviews).”
“It's your average Fred Meyer. Nothing fancy. They were stocked with items that I needed so that is a positive. The employees were helpful when I asked for help. They did not approach me to see if I needed help which I would have preferred. Parking lot has plenty of parking if pulling a trailer. Don't forget to sign up for your FM card so that you can earn discounts on gas. This is always so helpful especially when driving far distances (like here from Vancouver, WA).”
“While out on errands, I scheduled a pickup for an item that is usually to high for me to reach in the store. I had my order within minutes of arriving (using the app to let them know I was coming and where I parked in the pick-up zone). Very quick service, with a smile!”
“This a great place for anyone interested in eating healthy organic food. I am very impressed with the fresh produce and the variety of dry foods by the pound. The mouthwatering aroma coming from the sandwich shop will make your stomach growl. Thank you to everyone who works here for making this what it is.”
