The Home Depot offers a wide selection of top brands and products, from tools and appliances to paint, flooring, and more. The store aims to combine expert know-how with this extensive inventory. Many reviews find the staff to be awesome, helpful, friendly, and trying to assist with issues like tracking down orders. The store is typically clean and well-stocked, with an easy, friendly checkout process.
However, experiences with staff knowledge and availability can vary. Some customers report that every employee has a different answer to the same question, and it can be harder to find an employee for help than in the past. While some staff are praised for going above and beyond, such as locating a crucial item at another store during an emergency, others note that product knowledge can be inconsistent. Additional frustrations include incomplete online orders and the fact that having many items behind locked doors to stop theft takes away from the shopping experience. Despite these drawbacks, such exceptional service during critical times has created loyal customers for life.
