βIf you think a truck stop is just a place to pump gas and grab a stale granola bar, you clearly havenβt experienced the Space Age Travel Center in Hermiston.
First of all, the fuel island setup deserves its own award. The window washing station isnβt some sad, half-empty bucket of mystery water with a shredded squeegee. No, this is a fully operational windshield spa experience. Clean water. Functional squeegees. Space to move. Itβs the kind of detail that tells you: these people care. When you pull back onto I-84 with a crystal-clear windshield and the Columbia Basin sunshine pouring in, it feels like you leveled up your entire road trip.
Then you walk insideβ¦ and youβre greeted by what can only be described as The Great Wall of Caffeine.
An entire refrigerated section lined top to bottom with every energy drink, cold brew, and neon-colored performance beverage known to modern civilization. If you canβt find the exact flavor of whatever high-octane liquid motivation youβre looking for here, it probably hasnβt been invented yet. Itβs not a drink cooler, itβs a monument to productivity.
And just when you think youβve seen it allβ¦
The big rubber chickens.
Hanging there in all their chaotic glory like roadside royalty. Equal parts hilarious and iconic. Theyβre the kind of thing that makes you text a picture to your group chat with zero explanation. Because no explanation is needed. Road trips require absurdity, and Space Age delivers.
Everything is clean, organized, and stocked like they actually expect humans to shop there, which, shockingly, is not always the case in travel centers. The staff is friendly, the layout makes sense, and the vibe is somewhere between βwell-run operationβ and βOregon roadside legend.β
Five stars.
Clean windshield.
Fully caffeinated.
Rubber chicken acquired.
Thatβs how a travel stop should be done. ?β
βStopped in to get gas. The gentleman that pumped the gas and washed our windows was so very nice. The price for the gas was a little cheaper than others in town.β
βIf you're a truck driver you can ALWAYS find parking here in their huge cratered lot. They'll also make you food to order 24 hours ( burgers fries sandwiches breakfast - I've always found it really good), as opposed to just eatint stuff out of the case. Other than that it's a dive - But I'd rather go to a dive where I know I can park! After my 10 hours is up I'll fuel down the road at the flying J lol.β

βPlentiful parking spots for trucks. Friendly employees. The A&W inside also has friendly employees and serves good food. The only place Iβve seen that has giant donuts as big as they do. Showers could use some work. Gods price for fuel and DEF. I heard the hotel is decent too but have yet the need to stay there. Would recommendβ

βI really like this Sinclair because they always seem to have the best prices and they can usually get you though pretty quick. Sometimes it might take a second but I'm never in a big hurry. They are usually super genuine especially a few of the guys who have helped me have even talked and asked how I'm doing while they are working between helping others super great prices!β

βI rather like this store. Have always had great cigarette prices. And the owner was nice enough to let me go through the tapes to choose what flavor I want because I was having trouble reading them from the counter. Sorry to any of you that have bad reviews. Especially the gas ones yikes.β

βThe guys are always spot on with service. The owner should get them a portacool during these hot months. I know he has the money. Stop being so cheap when these guys are making you money while you post up at your house.β
