“The staff here is always super sweet - The last time I visited, the person at the register overheard my friend and I talking about Quagsire. They asked if we were fans and went to the back to bring out a Quagsire plush that wasn’t on display yet. This made my day and I really appreciate the staff here always going the extra mile :D cutest selection of trinkets and collectibles eva!!”
“Absolutely my go-to craft spot! Have a variety of craft supplies, quality products, and friendly staff. Was a little tricky to find at first, but close to the 70 bus-line.”
“Adorable store with lots of hidden treasures! We have purchased from here many times and love each item that we’ve gotten. Owner is also very kind and the workers have always been super understanding of my young children when they look through the items (the mess they typically make).
For those with young kiddos, there are no public restrooms here (staff said there was a coffee shop down the street).., so be sure to have your kids go before going to the store! I made the mistake of not making them go, and had to leave 5 minutes after entering the store bc my kiddo had to go. ??♀️. Sadly we didn’t get to do much shopping there that day.”
“I have gone here for last 26 years. Always holds up in quality and service. It’s definitely worth the trip to multnomah village. Nice selection of legos, play mobile, trains, dolls, it feels good being in here and kid friendly”
“Extremely helpful staff, a store full of parts products and ideas for the hobbyist. From radio control boats cars and planes. Model kits. Model trains all sizes. Slot car tracks also in stock. And it's a local business.”
“We love Hammer & Jacks! We adore Jillian. She has been a huge part of our lives ever since she welcomed us in for a new parent support group back in 2018. Not only was her vision of becoming a community hub and staple something that I could get behind as a FTM but over the years all of her support in helping to get my littles through their developmental milestones with thoughtful toy and activity recommendations have been invaluable! She also was LIFESAVER during the pandemic, doing toy and balloon deliveries and truly bringing love and light into our home. But since the new location opened with all the fun activities (our favorites being Toddler Art and Books & Bubbles) and playscape, our littlest human has grown to wake up Wednesday mornings to ask for "toy store & bagels"-- his idea of the perfect day.If you are looking for a wealth of knowledge on toy recommendations and fun ways to reimagine play... shop local and stop in and visit Hammer & Jacks!”
“I do love going to this location. The staff is always super helpful. I came to get a gift for my sister and ended up getting a couple things for myself also. Of course, I also filled a box from the pick a brick wall. Such a great value when you pack everything in tightly.”
“Lacy at Posh baby was so incredibly helpful and nice!! She helped me find exactly what I needed and even after placing an online order and changing my mind she helped me change my order! I highly recommend using this small business for your baby needs! I will continue to support this business after my baby is here and needs upgrades! Thank you Lacy!”
“Knowledgeable staff of true Lego enthusiasts, constantly fresh inventory of new and pre-owed sets & mini figs, and fun calendar of events. Great kids birthday party venue option too!”
“I appreciate how selective this store is with what they take. It guarantees the quality of their items and you always find a treasure! Friendly staff and a clean facility as well.”
“Wow, we are so thrilled with our new play structure! Dave was so helpful designing an amazingly fun and unique structure in our tight space. His son, Ben, installed everything in a few days and was able to integrate it with an existing patio so the kids can access it from multiple directions. My girls couldn’t be happier and we have many years of fun memories to make. Thank you!”
“A delight. I trust the staff's recommendations; they’re so knowledgeable about the material, and it’s curated beautifully. Get a punch card: you’ll be coming back.”
“I would give 10 stars if I could. Excellent Customer Service and the selection is like no other toy store. Will definitely shop here again. If only every store and store owner could be this good. I love my Nano Neons! Thank you!”
“I needed a last minute gift for a baby girl and the employees at Grasshopper were super-friendly and helped me pick and match a cute outfit! Thank you Grasshopper.”
“Best place to buy shoes for kiddos in Portland! The owner, Carey, is so kind and knowledgeable about everything in the shop, too. My favorite place to shop for all things baby and up in PDX.”
“If you want your kids to enjoy being kids again, this is the place for your 2023 Christmas season! If you can't shop in person order online, don't miss out this year! Make it easy as this is a one stop shop to get all your gift ideas!”
“As a bookworm hailing from the UK, stepping into a Barnes & Noble during my American visit was an experience I'd anticipated. While I ultimately didn't make a purchase, the visit itself was a delightful immersion into a different kind of bookstore culture.
The first thing that struck me was the sheer scale. Compared to many of our high street bookshops, Barnes & Noble felt expansive, with broad aisles and towering shelves that seemed to stretch into the literary heavens. The layout was intuitive, with clear signage guiding me through genres, and dedicated sections for new releases and bestsellers were prominently displayed, making it easy to see what was currently capturing American readers' attention.
What truly set it apart for me was the atmosphere. It wasn't just a place to buy books; it felt like a community hub. The comfortable seating areas, complete with armchairs and small tables, invited lingering. The integrated Starbucks café, a common feature I’ve heard about but rarely encountered in UK bookstores, added to this sense of a welcoming retreat. People were genuinely settling in, reading, working, or quietly chatting over coffee – a far cry from the often hurried pace of UK retail.
I spent a good hour just Browse, admiring the vast selection, and appreciating the unhurried vibe. The children's section was particularly impressive, vibrant and engaging, with plenty of space for little ones to explore. While I left empty-handed, my decision was more about luggage constraints for my flight back to the UK than a lack of tempting titles. The visit was a pleasant cultural observation, showcasing a relaxed, inviting approach to bookselling that felt uniquely American. It was a worthwhile pilgrimage, even without a new book to show for it.”

“A Beaverton landmark. This is such great place to get comic books. The toy selection is definitely geared towards adults, with an impressive selection of hot toys. The toys are somewhat pricey, so kids will struggle to find something to suit their tastes. Glad to find a place that carries Heroclix.”

“My friend & I were in town and checked some kpop albums. And we did not go home disappointed! They got most of the albums we wanted..and I luckily pulled a rare photocard.”
“We recently had a birthday party here for my son and it was great. The staff was friendly provided lego building for the kids and also gave my son a birthday lego gift. These guys were just awesome. Thank you for making it fun and easy for us.”
“We went in and saw a cute Axolotl Zombie. It had an eyeball shirt on. Asked Droux about availability, and they went through the trouble of giving us the display shirt. Later Droux sold us the display so that we did not have to wait in line. Thank you Droux!”
“This is one of my favorite stores in the mall. Never had customer service like Serenity's. She was kind and knowledgeable on Pusheen which I love love love. She was super helpful and helped us out greatly!”
“Lots of candies, sodas and silly knick knacks. Has various vintage devices like the photo booth and fortune teller. Gives off a retro futurism vibe. Stop by if you ever see it.”
“Lost a piece to completing the succulents set and went into the store to look for it. I came unprepared with no name or picture but the staff were knowledgable and helped me find it immediately!”
“Beanstalk has some frustratingly limited hours, making it difficult to patronize on the regular (especially during the work week!), but when you do manage to get in the door, there's some fantastic treasures to be found here. Although it is primarily a consignment children's clothing store, you'll also find no shortage of wonderful, analog toys to plant the seeds of imagination in your little ones, in the hope that they'll sprout into clever, intelligent, fully-functioning, not-screen-addicted adults! This must be a conscious choice, because I could find nary an electronic device anywhere in the shop! Big kudos from me on that point alone! As for the clothing, let's just say, you're spoilt for choice. While some of the items are a little on the pricier side than I would like for a consignment shop, the quality of the clothing here is impeccable: clean, well-organized, and a healthy variety of sizes and styles. Everything you could need for any age, from newborn and toddler, up through the early grade school years: shirts, pants, dresses, hats, coats, shoes (TONS of shoes!), costumes, and all sorts of accessories! There's also a small selection of baby stuff in the back, including cribs, swings, and a host of different devices that I have no clue as to their function, but will assuredly be learning about them in the coming months (my wife is due next month)! In the last year, I have come to learn that shopping for a new child sucks, mostly because there is a dearth of places that have any quantity of clothing and accessories, outside of the big box stores, which I would prefer not to frequent, if possible. Thankfully, Beanstalk is here to pick up the slack, but you DO have to make an effort to get here during operating hours, particularly if you work during the week: Saturday (from 10am to 5pm) is your only real available option.”

“MudPuddles Toys and Books—formerly Child's Play—is a great place to get a gift for kids of any age. They have a large variety of toys to choose from. Legos, plushies, puppets, little toys here and there, board games, etc.I would recommend checking it out.”
“This store is absolutely lovely and the gal who helped me in store was amazing. She offered to help me to my car with items, as I had a stroller and little one with me. Fair prices, quality items and great customer service. Thank you!”
“Great prices and widespread collection of new and old. Just started collecting vinyls this year and have been to numerous stores in PDX. This one is by far the best in terms of pricing.”

“We went to the After Dark 21+ event "Out of This World" this week. It was so much fun! All the exhibits and events that we saw were memorable, and we definitely would do it again with some things in mind now.
The layout/setup caused us some confusion, and we missed a few things (that were the reasons we chose to attend this event in the first place).
Also, the food options were not quite as advertised, so in the future I'd have saved my money and eaten somewhere else prior to coming to this event.
Otherwise it was a blast and we would definitely do it again!”
“We bought a Gear Bot for our school. Our Gear Bot remote control did not work, so we called the Lake Oswego store to ask what we should do with the toy that wasn't working. The person on the phone treated us great. She was kind and very helpful. We took it back to the store and they helped us exchange it right away. Thank you!”
