“I fell in love with comic books during the mid-1990's, and had no idea that Marvel comics had such an interconnected universe to discover. Well, I ordered four beautiful back issues of Marvel comics and they were shipped to me in excellent condition. Now I have the new Scarlet Witch trade paperback ordered from Things From Another World. Altogether I have spent about $46.00 on the company's web store. The one thing you need to be wary of is going wild with preorders. I wish the site would warn you before locking in your order if it is past the FOC date. Besides that, TFAW is a haven for comic fans. Thanks to all the employees for running such a fun online shop.”

“I would give 10 stars if I could. Excellent Customer Service and the selection is like no other toy store. Will definitely shop here again. If only every store and store owner could be this good. I love my Nano Neons! Thank you!”

“We gone to the Lego store a few times, but yesterday our experience was just beyond outstanding and I have to share about it. The store was VERY busy yesterday, but several of the employees were very kind. One employee was at this little table when you walk in and there are built Lego sets there that kids can check out and play with a bit, and the employee that was there played with my son with the legos they had there and that was just awesome I thought. And then, another employee was kind enough to open one of the cases where they had a Darth Vader robot built and my son (7) is very particular about the head and helmet on the minifigures, but they opened the case for him to check it out and see it before I bought him a set. And not only did this employee open the case for my son to look at it up close, but they were also kind enough to give us an extra Darth Vader minifigure head after they had learned my son's had gone down the drain on accident. Our overall experience yesterday was just absolutely amazing, despite the store being so busy. The employee they had at the door controlling the amount of people that came into the store was also very kind. Highly recommend the Lego store at Washington Square. Their staff seems amazing. Thank you!”

“I LOVE this place. It's my first stop for all my kids' birthdays and for their friends' gifts. The staff is wonderfully helpful, and helped me pick the BEST card game for my burgeoning "[card] gamer" 6-year-old son, (game is called Sleeping Queens) after I mentioned he loved Uno.They also went down to their out-of-season stock to find me a beach bucket and water toys for a fundraiser basket I was helping fill.If you enjoy having a near-personal-shopper to guide you towards quality recommendations for the young and young-at-heart in your life, this is the place. Also: complimentary gift-wrapping. Need I say more?”

“Come for the play space, leave with a boatload of new toys! Which in this case was a good thing, since we visited near the holidays and have a bunch of nieces and nephews. While I think this spot is only listed as a toy store on Yelp--and what an amazing, well-thought-out, beautiful layout of toys and other offerings they have--the small play space to me is just as lovely. The sky and rainbow theme is a dream, and the toys are thoughtful and of good quality. We had at first tried to go to a different indoor playground in town, but when it turned out to be unexpectedly closed for the week, it was serendipity that we found ourselves here instead. My two small kiddos played for around an hour, and the adults left with a wooden thumb piano, a DIY synthesizer, and a set of magnetic darts, among other things. Which are gifts and which I'm planning to keep, I'll never tell. Can't wait to come back.”

“We bought a Gear Bot for our school. Our Gear Bot remote control did not work, so we called the Lake Oswego store to ask what we should do with the toy that wasn't working. The person on the phone treated us great. She was kind and very helpful. We took it back to the store and they helped us exchange it right away. Thank you!”

“Super late to the party, but I got my first Lego set for a birthday gift and ended up loving it. Relaxing way to unwind after work. I needed my next fix, so remembered this place from just driving by and went in today! What a cute and fun place. Lots to just see in there as they have so many large sets on display and for sale. Seems like a fun place to just browse or bring your kid and play around. Staff was nice too. They have a lot here, from new and used sets to pieces you might be missing or needing. Prices are good, (new set is same as other retailers), but it's nice to shop local and they have some great used, and box open but complete sets at lower prices. I definitely will be back and I recommend you stop in and check out all the fun things. Oh, and looks like they do events and stuff too!”

“This place is awesome, a perfect nerdy nest for anyone interested in Japanese pop culture and other similar fun things. As soon as I saw the exterior, my mood immediately lifted. My friend recommended it to me when I was having a tough day and ended up buying some holiday gifts and cute little things like stickers here. They have a lot to choose from, variety of prices (you can either come out barely spending anything to getting some expensive high quality merchandise) and the setup of the store is just very lovely to look at. The store owner was really nice and inclusive, you can tell they are passionate about what they do. I want to come back and bring everyone I know with similar interests.”

“Good k-pop selection at decent prices. Their openness for trading events is nice. The workers are always kind, too. They sell Harry Potter, which doesn’t bode well for trans allyship, but that’s my only complaint.”

“Stopped in to check out this store because it's on my commute. Some with the owner who was super friendly. They have about 6 tables which could host about 12 players and the shop is mostly TCG focused. They also have items which would make great general nerdy gifts.”

“Wow, we are so thrilled with our new play structure! Dave was so helpful designing an amazingly fun and unique structure in our tight space. His son, Ben, installed everything in a few days and was able to integrate it with an existing patio so the kids can access it from multiple directions. My girls couldn’t be happier and we have many years of fun memories to make. Thank you!”

“Beanstalk has some frustratingly limited hours, making it difficult to patronize on the regular (especially during the work week!), but when you do manage to get in the door, there's some fantastic treasures to be found here. Although it is primarily a consignment children's clothing store, you'll also find no shortage of wonderful, analog toys to plant the seeds of imagination in your little ones, in the hope that they'll sprout into clever, intelligent, fully-functioning, not-screen-addicted adults! This must be a conscious choice, because I could find nary an electronic device anywhere in the shop! Big kudos from me on that point alone! As for the clothing, let's just say, you're spoilt for choice. While some of the items are a little on the pricier side than I would like for a consignment shop, the quality of the clothing here is impeccable: clean, well-organized, and a healthy variety of sizes and styles. Everything you could need for any age, from newborn and toddler, up through the early grade school years: shirts, pants, dresses, hats, coats, shoes (TONS of shoes!), costumes, and all sorts of accessories! There's also a small selection of baby stuff in the back, including cribs, swings, and a host of different devices that I have no clue as to their function, but will assuredly be learning about them in the coming months (my wife is due next month)! In the last year, I have come to learn that shopping for a new child sucks, mostly because there is a dearth of places that have any quantity of clothing and accessories, outside of the big box stores, which I would prefer not to frequent, if possible. Thankfully, Beanstalk is here to pick up the slack, but you DO have to make an effort to get here during operating hours, particularly if you work during the week: Saturday (from 10am to 5pm) is your only real available option.”

“There aren't many baby stores you can go to in person anymore. My husband and I love this store and being able to see the baby gear in person. We bought our nursery glider here and we love it. The staff are always so kind and helpful. We will definitely be returning as we raise our little guy!”

“One of my favorite children's toy stores in all of Portland! A fantastic collection of everything from stuffed animals, puzzles, games, books, build kits, trinkets, and educational gifts. I rarely leave here without picking something up for my toddler son, who always enjoys whatever quirky new toy Dad brings home for him. The employees here also happen to be exceptionally sweet and welcoming, which is a huge plus. Very recommended!”

“If your looking for a special gift for a little one, you'll be happy you stopped in to explore SpielWerk Toys. They have high quality, adorable gifts that you can't find in big box retail shops. The toys are interesting, imaginative and there's a good selection, especially for young girls.”

“Nick was extremely helpful and a great guy to chat with! Was a little apprehensive about going through SF because once you have a reputation online it's hard to shake it, but it seems they've been able to expand their facilities and customer service has greatly improved. My experience was very enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend them, especially if you can make the trip to the Showroom.”

“I think I could've spent several hours here just browsing at all the things and buying gifts for my 2, 5, and 7-year olds. Outside of big retailers, there aren't many good, physical toy stores left and this one has all the feels of being a kid and going into a toy store with wondrous delight everywhere you turn. Here, it's not on app on the screen: Touch, feel, and see the toys because they've got new stuff and "oh my gosh, remember this?!" stuff. There is something for almost every age group and a nice price range of items to choose from as well: stuffed animals, puzzles, stickers, cute pens, toy cars, wooden toys, legos, and so much more. I almost missed the "hidden" book section in the back! I do agree with another yelper that the employees are rather aloof and a bit unhelpful, but there isn't much one can help, unless you are looking for something specific and you're in a hurry. If you have kids and/or you're looking for gifts/rewards, this place is def a must-stop!”

“Friendly, adorable, and perfect! Carries stuff you won’t find anywhere else. If you enjoy stuffed animals and you’re unsatisfied with the usual big brand stuff, you need to come here.”

“A perfect example of a cute and quaint children's bookstore filled with unique items and a friendly atmosphere. Each shelf is packed with books and other goods, as well as recommendations and knick knacks. You won't necessarily find a bargain here but they do have a small sale section and prices are comparable to other book sellers. Masks are encouraged but not required anymore. Street parking only.”

“Good variety and uncluttered layout. They have all the watercolor resources I want, including an especially complete selection of Daniel Smith paint. Friendly staff. Free off-street parking behind the store.”
