“aimee, lindsay and seth greeted us and were very welcoming! aimee and lindsay were super helpful in introducing us to the crypt of shadows room. aimee was particularly upbeat and great at setting the vision and using character voices. all of us left with glowing reviews of the rooms themselves. we one hundred percent will return. i recommend them highly. the rooms we learned are created from the owners who used to work in designing haunted houses. they definitely know what they are doing, we had so many clues and puzzles to work out that we solved it with seconds to spare. thank you all for a great time!”

“Fantastic experience. Learned how to make DF chicken tika masala with my son. Was a fun and educational experience with a pro chef that taught me and my son cooking tips and tricks that I didn't know after 30 years of being an at home cook. This bonding time making with and enjoying what we made together with my son was priceless. We brought some home for my wife. The food was as good as or better than any of the 15ish restaurants and food cars I've ever been to. Plus you keep the recipes so you can recreate the dish or experience at home! Just tell them your allergen needs and they will make the recipe personalized for you. Let them know what dish you want 30 days in advance if you dont see it on the schedule and they will put it on the schedule of classes for you, they can do any dish from anywhere!”

“I participated in a wedding recently. This venue is great. You feel like you’re in the country and not minutes from the freeway. (which is also convenient) The grounds and buildings are well maintained. They take pride and it shows. The event planner, Elizabeth has a tough job making sure everything goes smoothly. She does it well and really cares about the wedding turning out as planned. The staff behind the scene are also very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this venue.”

“I recently stayed at this hotel, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience in every way. Rooms: The room was incredibly spacious, modern, and spotless. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. I appreciated the attention to detail, from the high-quality toiletries to the plush towels and crisp linens. The room also had a beautiful view, which made relaxing after a long day even more enjoyable. The temperature control was perfect, and the room was always quiet, providing a restful environment for sleep. Service: The service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure I felt comfortable and taken care of. Check-in was quick and easy, and any request I had was promptly attended to. Housekeeping did an excellent job keeping the room neat. Location: The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore local attractions, restaurants, and shops. We were staying because the hospital was nearby and had an extended stay at this hotel.... Public transportation is conveniently nearby, but I found walking around to be just as pleasant. The hotel offered valet parking or street parking was available as well. It’s a nice, clean area, so despite being centrally located, I enjoyed a peaceful stay. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would choose to stay here again!”

“This is a lovely venue surrounded by cool places to eat and drink. The entry foyer is very nice with plenty of room for setting up greeting tables and a coat check.. The main ballroom has wonderful chandeliers, very high ceilings and lots of windows. Dance floor is a little small for the overall space but adequate. The bathrooms are new and clean. Set up in kitchen area is barely adequate. Parking is plentiful. That’s a great place for any medium size event.”

“BEAUTIFUL magical venue, if you're looking for places to get married in or around Portland definitely check out Blockhouse. We got endless compliments on our reception here. I'll be coming back to Pomarius Nursery to buy plants just to sneak more looks at this beautiful venue! They were very communicative and helpful throughout the entire planning process. We wanted a venue IN Portland (not in the gorge or wine country) since a lot of our friends and family live in town and its close to the airport with a lot of hotels nearby and options for afterparty. We also appreciated their later (11pm) cut off which allowed us to have a later reception with our friends and family. We barely had to add decorations because the space was naturally so beautiful. We did add a plant wall backdrop through the nursery and it turned out perfect. I can't say enough great things about it!”

When I came back from my appointment and tried to get into the building to get back to my car, I was having trouble because the doors were locked. A wonderful security guard named Cynthia spotted me and asked if she could help. She not only helped me get into the building, she walked me down the elevator and to my car. It was so great that she went out of her way to help me. And, she thanked ME for helping her get her steps in. What a caring, sweet individual she is.”

“If you want to have fun in a cool, well-placed space, the Baker Building is for you. They don't yet have their speakeasy open downstairs, but I can't wait to see it when the final product is ready to go. This historic building is situated right above a flower shop that also provided florals for my bride and groom and did a fantastic job. The owners, Jen and Mark, are fantastic partners throughout the entire planning process. They provided everything we needed to have a fantastic party and were incredibly helpful as the night waned on and new things popped up. As with any historic building in Portland, there will be its quirks. For example, the Baker Building is upstairs and there's no elevator. But if you're with a group for whom that's not an issue—or you have very adaptable friends—this is a great place to host an intimate wedding where you can party all night long and then slip out to the great bars right nearby.”
