“I joined OT just about a year ago after retiring from work. I was looking for a great place to workout, great people to work out with and a team to deliver it all. What I found was all of that and more! Great community, great coaches, strong support + celebration of your success and for the first time a motivating place to workout consistently. Would highly recommend this club and this location!”
“The front desk - Tia was so friendly! Love her energy & her sweet smile.
Have been going to this gym for 5 months now, love the programs & all the options they have.”
“I've been coming here for a couple years now and it's been amazing. The coaches are super helpful and supportive, and the community here is amazing. My form and strength have improved massively since I started. Highly highly recommend.”

“I started training at Industrial Strength 5 months ago. I'm still fairly new to working out in a gym and have had a great experience! The facility is super clean and well-equipped and the coaches have all been top notch in their instruction and support. I love that there is an organized training schedule, and the gym offers multiple class times to accommodate busy schedules. It's been fun to become a "regular" and build rapport with the diverse community of members.”
“I have belonged to the Portland Anytime Fitness for 2 years. The facility is great (clean, quality equipment). Most important I have always had great experiences with the people -- trainers to managers. They really helped set up a program for me to be successful.”

“If you live in Portland and don’t train at American top team then you are missing the opportunity to receive world class training. Everyone is friendly and focused on making each other better every day. Great community atmosphere.”
“I honestly wasn’t sure if I could ever be excited about taking care of my body and pushing myself like this again, but Blue House changed all that. The space is beautiful, the coaches are incredible and the community is everything!”
“The perfect gym for my needs. Clean, spacious and with high quality equipment - machines and free weights. I have never once felt like they lack a piece of equipment either. And there is almost never a wait for equipment, particularly outside out of peak early evening hours. Chris is a nice guy and always appreciate his relaxed presence. I haven't taken advantage of the classes but will do so one day soon.”

“Wally Jones has created something genuinely special at Southwest Portland Martial Arts and CrossFit Hillsdale. I’ve known him for only a few years, but in that time I’ve come to appreciate how unique his leadership, attitude, and teaching style are. Before joining, I’d heard plenty of stereotypes about CrossFit. That it was overly intense, competitive, and full of ego-driven athletes trying to out-lift each other. Wally’s gym couldn’t be more different.
From day one, he made it clear that this is a space built on collaboration, respect, and personal growth. Wally fosters an atmosphere where you’re encouraged to go at your own pace, focus on form and technique, and celebrate progress — not perfection. He emphasizes lower weights and correct movement over brute strength, and that simple philosophy keeps people safe, builds confidence, and creates a lasting love of training.
Wally’s coaching style is constructive, humorous, and deeply human. He gives feedback that makes you better without ever making you feel small. He’s the kind of coach who’ll crack a joke mid-workout to keep spirits high but also knows exactly how to tweak your form so you get it right the next time. Even on days I don’t feel like working out, his energy and encouragement make it worth showing up.
What’s equally impressive is how Wally treats people. He’s accepting, thoughtful, and leads by example in the way he treats every person who walks through the door. Whether it’s handling an awkward situation with grace, like gently escorting a confused stranger who wandered into class... or picking up garbage left in the parking lot just because it’s the right thing to do, he embodies integrity in small, everyday actions.
Wally’s not trying to be anyone other than himself. What you see is who he is. No performance, no pretension, just genuine kindness and a sharp sense of humor. That honesty creates a community where people of all backgrounds feel welcome.
If you’ve ever been hesitant to try CrossFit because you thought it might be intimidating, Wally’s gym will change your mind completely. It’s a place where effort is celebrated, individuality is respected, and laughter is part of the workout. Simply put, Wally Jones has built one of the most welcoming and grounded fitness communities you’ll ever find.”
“Love Vive and Swingstate Boxing! Molly, the boxing instructor, has incredible energy, and knowledge along with fun vibrant music! I've definitely become so much stronger health wise. “This gym needs to be protected! What an absolute treasure it is. Rich in history and they do a great job at preserving it. It feels like you stepped back in time. Getting to train with original chain driven Nautilus equipment globe dumbbells were a highlight for me. I hope this gym stays open for many more years to come!”
“Started at Forever Strong just under a year ago as someone who had never lifted a single weight in her life, and I feel transformed. Jarvis is kind, encouraging, and highly knowledgeable, and the community of supportive and driven athletes around me have been inspiring and incredibly inclusive. Though I started with so little experience and negative muscle mass, I have felt the support and encouragement of all my fellow gym members and especially Jarvis every step along the way, and I can't believe how far I've come in hardly any time at all. I'm converted!”
“My two sons have been attending Ballistic Box for about 8-9 months now. They love it. Coach Jason is phenomenal with the children. The other coaches are awesome too, and the whole place is friendly and inviting. It feels like family! The new facility in Gresham off 183rd and Halsey is top notch and has lots of space. My sons are learning focus and discipline while becoming physically fit. It's so awesome watching them learn "The Sweet Science". One of my children has attention problems and Coach Jason is very patient with him. We have definitely been seeing much improvement.I would recommend this gym. Five stars for sure.”

“Such a great experience, bought a membership to come back. Saw real time results after working with their stretch specialist.. Would recommend to anyone to help with mobility and posture. Evangeline and Olivia were both extremely friendly and made the experience enjoyable.”
“Very friendly staff and good coaches. We loved that we could walk to this studio from our hotel to get a workout in on our vacation. Will definitely come back if we are in the area. Shout out to Niko who was a motivating and experienced coach. Definitely go to him if you have the option.”
“I was new to gyms but wanted to get a routine down that helped me get back in shape, work on some specific issues I was having and learn my way around the equipment. I signed up for three months of personal training sessions with Clay after an introductory session and they were a life changer. Clay is knowledgeable, listened to what I needed, pushed me to take the extra step and together we built a plan I can take with me to confidently set my own agenda at the gym and keep myself in shape. The Saturday morning classes were great too. I always felt I got the help and guidance to use the equipment properly and adjust to get the most from my workout and avoid injury. Great atmosphere, welcoming vibe, clean space and no hidden fees. I recommend this gym and the trainers.”
“Great little gym which has everything I need. Plenty of freeweights and squat racks- fewer treadmills which always takes up too much space in other gyms. I've never been here and felt it was overwhelmingly busy. Top marks for staff who keep things really clean which is huge for me!Also, members are all very respectful, and there are plenty of other women lifting here, so it is very space approachable if you're a beginner.”
“This little gym lifts a big stack! Great classes - challenging but accessable for all skill levels because the instructors will fit your workout to your interests and skills. Are you looking for a place to have fun with good people? It's here! Are you looking for more focus, more intensity? You can find it here, too.I've been a gym rat since my Army days forty years ago, and PDXstrength is, across the board, the most welcoming, most challenging, most fun place I've ever trained.Come on and try a class! I think you'll agree!”
“I'm 46 and I've never lifted anything beyond kids, groceries and mulch. I've always been intimidated by the equipment and the vibe of weightlifting...but I also wanted to get stronger. I'm so glad my friend introduced me to Bridgetown! Jay has been incredibly kind and respectful to me. He's helped me find some routines that I feel excited about and he's committed to my safety and form. The whole community there is welcoming and friendly. No one records their sessions or takes selfies, folks do their own thing quietly and with intention. For the first time ever, I'm LOVING going to the gym! I feel like I've found something better than therapy.”
“The trainers are kind, motivating, and create an inclusive environment. They encourage you to push yourself but always meeting you where you're at—really appreciate that level of thoughtfulness and energy. The space is clean and inspiring to work out in. I've been training there for a couple of years now.”

“The environment is encouraging and safe for female lifters. If you ever have a question or need guidance Marshall is your guy. He deserves to be promoted for how helpful, inviting, and proactive of an employee he is. Overall, I’ve had a very good experience at this gym.”
“I loveeeee Farzin. I’ve only been training with him for a few weeks so far, but am already feeling a huge difference in strength and flexibility, not to mention significantly reduced stress and better sleep! Farzin has this incredible ability to push me farther than I ever thought possible while making me feel successful and confident the entire time. He’s so kind and motivating, and clearly an expert in his field. I feel so lucky to have him in my neighborhood!Updating after my final (for now!!) session with Farzin — our time together completely flew. Never have I enjoyed working out more or learned more about my body and how to take care of it. I miss Farzin already and can’t wait to be back!”
“Awesome experience at Pacific Crest CrossFit. I was greeted by the owner and he introduced me to the coach who was going to instruct the class I was in. The coach then asked about any possible injuries I might be dealing with then gave me a tour of the space. The class began and they went over the entire workout and had everyone introduce themselves. They had great coaching cues and were very clear with the instructions. This was one of my CrossFit drop in experiences. Pacific Crest CrossFit exceeded in every category of what to expect from an awesome CrossFit gym. 5 stars and well deserved!!!”

“I love Mt. Tabor CrossFit! The coaches are supportive and really know how to teach a variety of different skill levels. I've been going here for about 8 months and I've seen improvements in my fitness and overall health. I was totally new to CrossFit when I started, but thanks to the coaches I've learned a LOT and I feel more confident than ever in my abilities to keep improving. There are all different skill levels in this gym, which is motivating. Highly recommend if you are interested in CrossFit to give Mt. Tabor a try!”

“I have taken classes at many locations, when I travel, different studios in my hometown, and I have to say... The culture at this studio is the BEST especially the 5am class with Elissa! I felt seen, strong and had so much fun! I can't wait to get back into town. They deserve a raise!! They are world class.”
“Amazing workout and wonderful people make for a perfect experience every time. Lagree Fitness is one of the best ways to train full body in as little as 45 mins and the results are noticeable after only a week. Strongly recommend it.”
