The Red Lion Hotel Portland Airport is a conveniently located, older hotel situated just a mile or two from the airport, offering a brief five-minute ride. Its best feature is the complimentary 24/7 shuttle service to and from PDX, which guests find extremely helpful for early departures or late arrivals. The staff is frequently described as great, friendly, helpful, professional, and wonderful, providing satisfactory customer service, though occasional inconsistencies in demeanor are noted. The hotel itself is outdated, simple, and nothing fancy, but it is kept very clean in both the rooms and common areas. It represents a decent, lower-priced option for a place to sleep, especially for a quick stay before or after a flight. Rooms are equipped with comfortable bedding, a fridge, a microwave, and an air conditioner. The TV, however, is often reported as a pain, with issues like a mismatched guide and signal loss. Guests will hear airplanes, but the sound is often noted as not loud and sometimes even soothing. Notable drawbacks include paid parking in a gated lot and the absence of an elevator in the two-story building, requiring some guests to lug luggage up stairs. Amenities like microwavable meals for purchase add convenience. Overall, for the cost, it meets expectations for a practical, no-frills airport hotel with a great shuttle and generally friendly staff.
Convenient free shuttle with option to tip driver via Venmo. Bed was comfy but walls are thin

I hotel is pretty standard. The room was clean. I didn't have a car and the motel room is kind of by the airport so there is any public transportation (trimet). You pretty much need a car to do anything.

Close to airport, has airport shuttle, guests have to pay 10.00 to park there? Front desk clerk checked me in and I went to get my luggage from the car, walked back in and he didn't recognize me, asked me if I had a reservation? A bit run down and in need of maintenance
