The service was great and the appetizers were delicious!Food & drinks: We got the tots, pizza and some fries. They were all great. My husband had a sour beer which was really good and I had a cider and a mixed drink that was fantastic!”

“Second time staying here, and enjoyed. This place beside of being very beautiful its very clean and their beds are very comfy. We tried the restaurant on the top floor and food and drinks were delicious. Check in was fast and easy and all staff were very friendly. At night it does gets a little noisy but overall it is worth the stay. I will definitely be coming here again.”

“I picked this hotel because it had the best 1* review (seriously). Other much fancier hotels in Portland had the issue of car break-ins and guests left 1* reviews for this reason. Here, the most recent 1* review complained about the hotels once a week landscaping service which didn’t seem fair. I’d take landscaping noise over a car break in, however, there was no landscaping noise or car break ins while we were there for 2 nights. The location was convenient, we walked to Powell’s bookstore, the Japanese garden, restaurants, shops, etc. The staff was very kind and friendly at check in, the room was clean and the kitchen was a nice/unexpected bonus. I absolutely recommend this hotel if you’re staying in Portland.”

“This place was the perfect location for our little vacation. We have a small dog that doesn’t travel well but this hotel was quiet and calm which helped very much.Location right on the water is super convenient and there’s a few restaurants in the same complex/river front. Complimentary coffee in the mornings and a little happy hour in the evenings. Only gripe… Parking is super expensive and I would bypass that by self parking which is basically in the same parking lot/garage for half the price.Rooms are spacious and comfortable with the inly caveat being awkward decor. ….massive leather headboard that takes up more space than it needs to and lamps that look like they’re going to fall over …..that’s another conversation for another day. Overall it was a thumbs up for me.Rooms: Rooms are spacious, plush, and comfortable. There are some things I would change such as the headboard that takes up way too much space and the awkward lamps that make it really hard to get in/out of bed.Nearby activities: Museum and submarine across the river, waterfront park.Walkability: Lots to see and do that are relatively close. Museum across the river if you don’t mind walking medium to long distance. Right next to waterfront park.Food & drinks: There’s a restaurant on the main level with nice outdoor seating overlooking the river and walking path. There’s also several restaurants with in walking distance.Complimentary coffee in the mornings and happy hour in evenings.”

“Love this place. Stay here frequently. They do a great job, and it's a great location in downtown Portland. If they could improve something, the bathroom lighting is dim. PS, the restaurant/bar is great. Annie is wonderful.”

“Found this bnb randomly while searching for places to eat this area. Took a chance and booked directly with them. Decided on the St. JOHN SUITE on the 3rd floor. There is another room on the 3rd floor. St. John Suite is very spacious with 2 balconies, 2 closets, double vanities, one large walk in shower with 2 shower heads on opposite ends. The common area on the first floor is very charming (mostly). Kinda made me feel like I was in a movie, the floor/stairs creak, the decor can make you feel creeped out. There's on site parking which was wonderful but the entrance can be easily missed in the dark. There are "linen closets" in the hallways if you need more towels and toiletries. There is a washer dryer in the basement which was convenient.”

“Walkability: The motel is definitely within walking distance of just about anything that you would want to do in downtownFood & drinks: The bar slash restaurant at the hotel is fantastic. A great place by yourself or to meet”

“This is a classic McMenamins. The atmosphere is really cool especially the underground vibe. It’s a great place for date. But in typical McMenamin style the food is not that good. It’s also not bad it’s just not memorable. The drinks are OK.”

“The hotel was very clean overall, including the room. The room was also spacious (we had a king) with all the usual amenities. There were also ample outlets for all of our devices. Our room was also pretty quiet. The only slightly wonky aspect was our shower took a little bit to get the hot water going. The location was also good. There were plenty of places to eat within walking distance. It's also situated next to some parks which was nice.Overall it was a great place to stay.”

“Halloween weekend brought my best friend and I to Portland from Seattle for Zhu's performance at the Rose Theater. Our initial disappointment arose when the Marriott informed us about being relocated to the AC Hotel, a name unfamiliar to us. Expressing my concern to my girlfriend at the time over the phone, she intended to escalate the matter until I told her what hotel they were putting us in. She immediately told "me you're complaining for nothing that hotel is a really good hotel" lol. To my surprise, the AC Hotel exceeded expectations. The stay was delightful, with immaculate rooms and excellent valet service. The staff, accommodating our frequent car retrievals, showcased great understanding and efficiency. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting Portland for a top-notch experience."”

“We chose this hotel for a getaway to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We were delighted with the complimentary upgraded room, the nice touch of chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne upon arrival and the excellent service we experienced. From the warm and personable welcome by Clint at the front desk to the attentive service during a gourmet dinner at Urban Farmer, we felt pampered and appreciated. We did have an issue with heat not working in our room due to a mechanical failure, but this was completely resolved to our satisfaction. The hotel is conveniently located near to Pioneer Square and easy walking distance to some amazing shops and restaurants.”

“I am in awe with Peggy from the front desk. She is amazing, ready to answer any question with a smile and is super helpful. My room was great, very clean and the food was good.I am giving the 5 star review only because of Peggy, if I was going by the receptionist that admitted me it would have been very different.”

“I was honestly quite pleasantly surprised by this place. Front desk staff was lovely. Room was spacious, immaculately clean with no weird odors. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and dishes. Great water pressure and long-running hot water. Really, at the price I paid for a suite, what else can you ask for? Even though the decor is a bit dated looking, everything is so fresh and clean, it just adds to the charm. Oh, and free parking! In Portland. Will absolutely stay here every time I stay in Portland.Walkability: Close to everything.Food & drinks: They provide great complimentary food and drinks in the suites, as well as in lobby.”

“Great rooms, loved that there is a bar/restaurant on property. Alicia in Lous was TOP NOTCH!!!! Food prices are a tad high, but the food is good. For an older property it has been updated, nicely. The ONLY negative was the smell of commercial carpet cleaner in the hallways. Thank goodness the rooms didn't smell that way. Pet friendly, excellent breakfast each morning, conveniently located near St Vincent's hospital.Rooms: Updated and pet friendly”

“Over night person SHARON (sorry if I misspelled your name) but she was / is the sweetest woman ever I myself am a truck driver every hotel was booked out my company found this hotel booked last min and we was able to get a room here !! I came in she was welcoming she must’ve seen how wore out I was this gesture she made might be something small to her but it was BIG to me she checked me in fast immediately offered me some fruit and whatever she could find me to eat it was sweet because what she didn’t know is I haven’t ate in over 12 hours I was stuck in the snow for hours in the rental car I was drained so coming into this hotel and meeting a person like Sharon MADE MY NIGHT AFTER HAVING A HORRIBLE DAY if I ever have to come some where and be stranded again I would definitely pick this place please if you don’t do anything Sharon continue to be a sweet genuine compassionate person ….I went to other hotels before this alot of rude front desk people but not Sharon I can’t thank her enough I was able to eat my fruit shower and sleep peacefully but I thought about leaving this review all night some people never know how their interactions might affect or help a person so I pray she see this and smile big cause I definitely did”

“Our first time to Portland and we absolutely loved it! We took our chocolate lab ( he too had a blast) with us. The staff was very accommodating and considerate. They went out of their way to assist which we were extremely grateful for. The rooms were immaculate, quirky and very clean. “I stayed at Hyatt House in Portland and loved it. The suites are spacious with fully equipped kitchens, making it easy to save money by cooking like you're at home. The hotel's amenities were great, and its central location made exploring the city a breeze. I especially enjoyed nearby activities like riding bikes or scooters, exploring the streets, and taking walks by the river. Regarding the room service I think you have to request it in advanceRooms: Usually spacious and cleanWalkability: There are restaurants, bars and other business nearby”

“I had the pleasure of using the Think Tank room at Juniper Hotel, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, Fernando, our onsite contact, was an absolute gem. Our last-minute requests were handled with utmost professionalism and efficiency. His willingness to go above and beyond to accommodate our needs made for a good experience. The room itself was lovely, and the view was really fun.”

“I stayed 4 nights, arriving in soggy rain at 8 pm. The lady manager/owner was helpful in switching off the lights in my small, unfamiliar rented car. The room was clean, not smelling anything at all, with plenty of lights, 2 good-size tables, fridge, microwave ( Magic Chef ), toaster ( Lucy Ball type ) & an electric stove/oven, plus some utensils & even a medium pot for cooking. The twin bed had clean white sheets, comfy & a suitable light blanket. The space heater was noisy but very efficient. The Wi-Fi was sluggish for which the manager's son quickly volunteered to connect.Excellent in every way.The only thing that bothered me every night was noise from the trains, big rigs & cars. The Max rail runs past midnight. The heavy trucks & big rigs run until pretty late too. Some of the cars are extremely inconsiderate & play loud music at all times. The noise was why I only gave the motel 4 stars.”

“My friends and I have been coming here for the past two years for the annual Kumoricon at the convention center and we’ll be coming back next year!!! The staff was so nice ESPECIALLY Brianna, she went above and beyond to accommodate us, especially when I accidentally locked myself out of my hotel room. BRIANNA YOU RULE ?????”

“Decent hotel and nice staff. Indoor pool and hot tub. The bar and restaurant inside isn't bad. But don't park your car there if you have a nice car as they just get stolen out of their parking lot as mine did.Walkability: Close to the convention centerNoteworthy details: Your car will get stolen out of the parking lot. Beware.”

“The staff were all helpful, friendly, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. I mixed up my booking, and they offered to fix it instead of turning me away. Saved my anniversary! Rooms are clean, and shared bathrooms are huge and very private. Never had to wait.”
