“The owner and one man show is such a great guy and is an excellent craftsman from what I’ve seen so far. He helped me with a small last minute heel issue and didn’t even charge me even though I tried to hand him some cash! He just asked me to leave a review and come back with “real” repair jobs. Well, my most loved boots need some work and I hope he can fix the sole that is separating.
I’ll be driving across town and returning on Monday. Fingers crossed my beloved boots aren’t beyond repair.”
“I have been dreaming of a place like this for many years. I got into the barefoot movement long ago and there were so few shoes available. Now it's possible to walk into a place where you can try out all of these different brands and approaches for yourself. That would've been amazing. But the staff are also so helpful and knowledgeable, and every time I've been in there I've also had great conversations with the other people shopping. If you've ever been the least bit curious about this other way of walking and living and experiencing, don't hesitate to come by this delightful place of welcome and exploration.”

“Greetings upon walking in. Made to feel comfortable and welcomed. Staff seemed very knowledgeable. They do treadmill gait test and test you in different shoes for fit and feel. Now for the ultimate test - walking without pain.”

“I traded some older vintage Nike SB Dunks for 2 pretty sought after pairs. I'm across the country in CT and had concerns, like anyone would, about shipping my items to the store first. But I can tell you everything was top notch, I literally couldn't have asked for a better experience. The inventory they have is insane and the prices are solid for the quality. I've seen other stores charge more for worse condition. This will definitely be one of many transactions! ??????”
“Best selection of boots I have ever seen in one store. I ALWAYS have to try on 10 pairs to find something that actually fits and they had them. Sales staff isn't pushy and are very helpful if you ask, so nice for introverts and extroverts.Prices are very reasonable and if you need it they can order your size for you.”
“If you're a dancer, and haven't taken the time to stop in either location, you really would do so. I can honestly say that in the 25+ years I've been wearing pleaser heels, and throughout 5+ different states across the country, I have never seen a larger selection - nothing even came close . . . Including many online vendors. If you need a pair of heels and can't wait for delivery from the manufacturer? This is the only real option there is . . .”

“Okay, I've finally figured out that the reason I can't find Merrell outlets all over Portland is because there are Columbia outlets everywhere, instead. The deals I got here made me just as happy as the deals I'm used to getting at my favorite Merrell outlet in Folsom. I got two pairs of waterproof nonslip boots for work-- one Columbia and one Sorel-- both for $55. I had almost purchased a similar pair of Columbia boots at DSW for $70 a few days ago, so I ended up being so glad I held out for a better deal. They had so many good deals at this outlet, it was literally overwhelming. They had an entire floor of clearance Columbia and Mountain Hardware jackets. I also noticed a huge selection of PFG gear. I'm not into fishing, but I like their lightweight long sleeve sunblocking shirts.
Customer service was friendly, one of the employees was also a seasonal national park worker, so we ended up talking about that a little bit. Overall a great experience and I would definitely shop here again.”

“Edit: I’m very impressed with the fact that the store owner contacted me regarding my first review. He was very concerned and offered me a small discount on a pair of shoes. Im very impressed with how humble he is. He didn’t make excuses and took responsibility and that show’s character. So I’m updating my review to reflect the dedication this owner has towards maintaining a good name. I still really want to try out more Topo shoes so I will be trying them again at a different location that is bigger and is able to carry a larger stock. I really like the quality of shoes they offer. As we get older we have to take care of our feet and the foot traffic will help with that.As others said the selection is Tiny compared to their other location so my suggestion is to call ahead of time.I did go ahead and erase my other review because in hindsight it was hasty. If I had an issue I should have contacted a higher up person and given them the chance to offer a resolution before running to the internet.”

“I'm posting this not as somebody who has visited the store but as somebody who has received customer service over the phone.
I was looking for a pair of pants and I've been having problems finding pants in my size so I called this store. I made this call between 1:40 to 1:45 PST today Wednesday.
Because of the customer service that I received on the phone I will be visiting the store. The agent or representative that I spoke to from the store was extremely positive, upbeat and helpful.
I explained to her that I've been losing weight and that I don't normally buy clothes at this size because I'm not going to be this size forever. I did this because I'm used to having or hearing judgment in people's voices.
I did not get any hint of judgment from this representative. Like I said she was super positive and helpful.
This is exactly the type of people I love dealing with. So whoever her boss is should really promote her next time promotions come up.

“My friend and I are from a small community. Gas station, food market combined and church. We can hear the coyotes at night and occasionally a mama bear and her cubs pass though...anyway enough about Myself.
When we stepped into Gucci, we were another world!!! But I must say we were very impressed by a young man his kindness and who was happy to answer our questions left us with a.good experience.....It was NOT a pretty women moment.... thank you it was great!!”

“I came in 3/13 a Wednesday afternoon to a busy store and was immediately greeted. The guy that was there was busy with another customer but still acknowledged me and asked what I was looking for. He found what I was looking for (cool gray 11s) but unfortunately they were out of my current budget. I was indecisive and he could see that so he asked me what I was in to and showed me some cheaper options. I left with some red cement 4s, my first pair of 4s and I couldn't be happier. Prices are a bit high here but that's understandable, I'm sure washington square rent isn't cheap plus I would rather support local business so it's worth it to me, thank you!!!”
“Stopped in for some help with replacing my 20 year old Danner boots (after visiting the factory store where the staff couldn’t be bothered with customer service).Paul and Todd at the Union Way store were fantastic. They answered all my questions, took genuine interest in making sure I got a proper fit, and went out of their way to get my new boots to me when my size wasn’t in stock (they even offered me some delicious snacks?).Danner is lucky to have guys like this representing the brand. The boots are good of course, but salespeople who take customer satisfaction personally are rare indeed.”

“Small business located inside a former house. Parking behind the house for 4 vehicles is tight. The door was locked I had to ring the bell for the employee to open the door. The employee was very friendly but I highly recommend calling ahead to have your order pulled.”
