“This review is honestly a couple of years overdue. I recently came back to the area and visited a different When The Shoe Fits location and received the same level of excellent service. That experience reminded me that I never reviewed this Fishers Landing location, even though this is where they originally earned my trust. It didn’t feel right reviewing the newer experience without giving this store the credit it deserves.
I’m someone who is extremely slow to trust any business, especially when it comes to something like footwear where comfort, support, and durability actually matter. This location earned that trust the right way—through professionalism, knowledge, and genuine service.
The first thing that always stood out to me was how clean and well-kept the store is. Every time I walked in, it was immaculate. You’re greeted right away, and instead of being left to wander like a typical shoe store, the process is guided. It reminded me a lot of working in mattress sales—where the questions being asked may seem casual, but they’re actually helping the salesperson narrow down exactly what you need. I recognized that immediately, even if I don’t know the shoe industry the way they do.
They took measurements of my feet and asked the right kinds of questions to understand my needs. I have Army-related injuries and mobility limitations, so I needed something very specific: darker shoes that could pass in a business casual setting but still be comfortable enough for daily wear without aggravating my feet or ankles. I also needed something durable—not a flimsy shoe you can twist in half—but I’m not out running miles every day either. They brought out multiple options across different price points and explained why each one might work for me.
While they did mention add-ons like premium socks or inserts, it never felt pushy. I made it clear I was already spending around $200 on shoes and couldn’t stretch further, and they respected that. They explained the benefits, left the door open, and moved on. That matters.
One thing I expected but didn’t see was a more advanced gait analysis setup, but honestly, the salesperson’s experience made up for it. You could tell she knew what she was doing and had helped a lot of people before me.
The biggest thing for me, though, was trust. This didn’t feel like a place trying to upsell me or take advantage of me. It felt like a place trying to get me into the right product. Coming from Las Vegas, where it often feels like businesses assume the worst, that difference is huge.
I trusted them enough that I delayed replacing worn-out shoes for months just so I could come back to a When The Shoe Fits location. That should tell you everything you need to know.”

“I recommend this store based on the service I received from Maryanne. Although they did not have a shoe that met my particular needs, she measured my foot and showed me a few styles, then suggested a specific style in my size available at one of their other locations. She offered to have it transferred to the shop or to have it held for me there. I appreciated her friendliness and professionalism.”
“Brooke assisted with a boot exchange and made the process very easy and was very kind. She was also very knowledgeable about work boots and gave us some good information about them. My work had purchased us boots this year and I went with the Women's Irish Setter Cascades. I started wearing them mid/end of March and by beginning of June they were already starting to fall apart. This was my first time buying legit work boots but I believe I needed something a little more heavy duty to begin with. I am hoping this new pair will be more durable but regardless, I really appreciated the helpful service.”

“I ordered two pairs of boots last September (2019), a classic hiker and a summer hiker. I am a professional geologist and avid backpacker and have had life-long issues with debilitating blisters. I received the boots in late spring, also experiencing some of the delays and communication issues of recent reviews (hence 4 stars instead of 5). But persistence paid off. Both pairs have been heavily used this summer and fall and it makes such a difference having boots that fit my misshapen feet properly. Bottom line: The boots are great--six stars! And Aurel and Alex are conscientious craftsmen. I wish they attended to the business side a little better. I desperately want them to be there when I need my next pair!”
