“We came from out of town to a school field trip on Capitol Day. We found out there that the school was providing lunch, and my son is lactose intolerant. We had forgotten to bring Lactaid so he could eat pizza. We googled the closest pharmacy, and it was right inside Salem Hospital. “Willamette Compounding Pharmacy is top notch as a local compounding pharmacy. I switched over to them once I learned that they carried one of my scripts for a larger quantity and at a better price. They are located in the Quisenberry Pharmacies building in downtown Salem and have free parking located behind the building, which you can access through any of the alleys located on Ferry, Liberty (you'll have to weave around and past the nearby bank's parking spaces), and State St SE. I also have to give the pharmacist Sammi a shoutout, who demonstrates great service. He's been reachable and is quickly responsive over the phone, helpful, kind, and professional. I've been floored at his quick turnaround times (generally within a couple of hours on the same day), which surpasses my expectations compared to the major retailer pharmacies that will often have their scripts out of stock or backordered. There's only a small staff I've seen when I've come in to pick up my scripts, but you see them working hard on the frontlines and have been pleasant to work with at checkout. As soon as this outfit gets equipment to compound hormone cream I'll be happy to provide them additional business!”

“I placed a pick up order and went inside for a few things. I really like this Safeway. It's a decent sized store without being huge or overwhelming. The employees I interacted with were nice and helpful. Even in the produce section with 3 people working I walked around freely checking out the fruits and veges and I didn't get any of that 'you're in my way' vibe which is so so nice. The fruits and veges looked amazing by the way. It was my first visit to this Safeway and I will returning for all the above reasons and because it's relatively close to my house.”
“Switched to this Walgreens from another location that was pure chaos—and I’m honestly mad I didn’t do it sooner. This team is on it. Prescriptions actually get processed on time (imagine that), not sitting in a queue for days or mysteriously disappearing into the void. Everything is organized, efficient, and handled without the usual runaround. Staff is friendly, helpful, and you can tell they actually know what they’re doing. It’s night and day compared to my previous experience. Hands down the best Walgreens I’ve used so far. If you’re tired of delays and confusion, this is the one you want.”
“Wow! New Employees are beyond great! I can't see enough about how much these three employees changed the entire dynamic of the West Salem store! Store was clean, employees were attentive. The gentleman that does the pickup orders is super quick and efficient. I had such a problem with the app again glitching out during my online shopping experience for my pickup order it took me almost an hour to complete it and I was so frustrated. Then at the end the screen said it would be ready the following day rather than what it had said the entire time I was showing which was 30 minutes or less and I was quite frustrated because I needed the items same day and it was evening time but I would not have completed the order had I known I needed to wait till the next day. So when I went into the store I asked if there was any possibility they could make an exception in that I would be willing to help shop for the items if needed and lo and behold I look over and the gentleman had already shopped and bagged my entire order within 10 minutes of placing it. I was so impressed and so thankful. I also had a return of a Christmas gift that I had bought for my daughter that was a substitution on an order that she did not really care for and time got away from me and I was a few days over the 30 day return policy so I asked the manager if there was any way that they could make an exception cuz I go in there a lot and I would be happy with the store credit and she said yes long as you have your license we can do that and was so quick and efficient and friendly. I had had such a hard day and they just made it so much better by making everything work out so easily! I also purchased a few Valentine's gifts for my daughter while I was there and the prices were great everything was 20% off and the gentleman that was working the checkout was friendly and quick and I was just really pleased with all the new employees there, it was a completely different shopping experience. “My son and his wife told me about the Walgreens app. You can send pictures off your phone to get printed at walgreens. They email you when it's ready and it's very inexpensive. I love that now I can get all those pictures off of my phone and printed.”

Prescriptions are filled accurately and efficiently, communication is solid, and if there’s ever an issue, they handle it with professionalism and follow-through (a rare art these days). The atmosphere is calm, organized, and welcoming — which matters more than people realize when you’re dealing with health stuff. Trustworthy, reliable, and refreshingly humane. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.”
“This Walgreens has always been our neighborhood go-to for prescriptions and late night random snacks and stuff. Remember back in the day where Walgreens was fun to just be in because they had the “As Seen On TV” item aisle? Don’t get me started on Christmas stuff! ? The retail store itself is fine except they seem to always be understaffed, and I get it. It’s not a busy grocery store and rushes come in spurts. So there’s no sense in having multiple people on shift to just stand around. However, maybe look at your trends and staff accordingly? My main concern here is the pharmacy. They have always been on point and on time. The crew was efficient and friendly. But for the past 3 years or so, it has gone downhill, and I feel bad for them. I know it’s not their fault. They’re short staffed, overworked, and I’m sure underpaid. I work in healthcare, so I do give them some grace. My dad has multiple medical issues and is on a constant rotation of meds and in the end we had to cut ties with Walgreens and go with Optum Home Delivery for efficiency. I think if you’re picking up a prescription once in a blue moon then it’s great, but make sure to call ahead to see if it’s ready before you go there. It’s also great for vaccinations, make sure to make an appointment ahead of time though. It’s all common sense things to do so that you don’t get yourself all pissy. As far as the aesthetic of the building, dumpster, parking lot; it could definitely be better. That falls on management. Again, I’ll give them some grace. Maybe garbage pickup was delayed on the day that you just so happened to be there? If it’s consistent and it really bothers you, then SAY SOMETHING! At the end of the day we’re all in this rat race together just trying to survive. So to come on here and give 1 star and b*tch about things that employees and maybe even management have no control over AND you have no idea what’s going on behind closed doors…is just ridiculous, entitled, and unsympathetic. “Great pharmacy. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have several discount programs for people without prescription insurance. Sometimes discount programs are cheaper than insurance. Staff will help find you the cheapest option. Much better than most pharmacies I've used.”

“Well I found this bakery in good shape and very much clean, certainly appealing to the eye as the donuts had perfectly nice round holes, the cup cakes were xxxtremely tantalizing and really all was very, very good! Until I get around to the beautiful and fabulous Barbarian Creams... Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
