“The Duck Store is part of the official University of Oregon bookstore (not to be confused with the Go Ducks store online, which is not affiliated with the University bookstore or the university itself, but is an officially licensed online store ran by fanatics). They have some really cool stuff at The Duck Store, some stuff you expect and then some cool stuff you wouldn't. Marcus Mariota or Kenny Wheaton socks? Check. Football autographs from players like Bucky irving, Troy Franklin, and Bo Nix authenticated by a service like Beckett, PSA or JSA? Yup! Columbia Duck gear? Nike? Check. They even have some officially licensed Disney Oregon clothing (including some with the old school Donald Duck logo) and some clothing collaborating with the movie migration and the University of Oregon. There's lots more, too much to list. If you're a Duck fan, walking in here is like walking into a University of Oregon paradise. The employees were friendly and helpful, and they have fitting rooms if you need to try something on. It's always been a good experience coming here.”
“My bulk order was promptly delivered by LTL truck on two pallets. 100% of the order was shipped in a single delivery vs other vendors who have broken their orders up into multiple deliveries - sometimes spanning weeks. Very satisfied! Thank you!”
“Awesome place if you like books, they have so much stuff it’s crazy, I added a picture of a shelf that was a bunch of different versions of tokens books. Crazy place but awesome 10/10. Also, the better comic books are in the children’s area.”
“We love Parallell Worlds Bookshop! Intimate space, superbly curated, with such friendly and helpful staff. I assure you that you will find your perfect sci fi book here. Definitely endorse supporting this local gem.”
“This place is amazing, though I really need someone to take my wallet before I walk in. Charles is super friendly, and was so kind to my 6 year old daughter when we came to browse (and left with $100 worth of books). Highly, highly recommended.”

“Had a tarot card reading at Jan's and it was positive. I felt like it was what I needed to hear. Reader is there from 11 to 1 pm on Saturdays. Jan's also supports the community by showing other places of interest. Not an ordinary bookstore, great place to get books.”
“To me it’s a perfect bookstore. Very well curated and the guy who runs it is friendly and knowledgable. I’ve found some great occult book here and there are always some low price classics.”
“I used to go to Powell’s but I recently switched to Broadway books after hearing Anne Patchett rave about them :) They have a smaller collection and they’re a bit more expensive but I enjoy the experience more and the lovely employees are always up to chat about books. It’s a heavenly escape from the real world when I get to wander their books. They happily special order anything they don’t have in stock and I always see lots of regulars coming in for their orders. Today I overheard people chatting about the everybody reads book and I was happy to join the conversation. This is what I imagine a bookshop should be. Many thanks to Broadway books.”
“I really liked how accommodating Deseret Book was. 4 of us went inside and chose CTR rings. The lady who helped us went through many different sizes and types for all four of us. In the end we all had gotten the rings we wanted. They have quite the variety of rings inside. Along with many other types LDS jewelry. I definitely recommend coming here.”
“Best bookstore in Portland! Fun and comfortable to wander around, and the book recommendations I received were spot-on.They also have stacks of books with similar themes, which is just a fun way to find something new.”
“A small and favorite spot of our family. Great for graphic novels! So many inclusive works, and a lovely reading nook for kiddos to have a quiet spot before picking something to take home. They also offer subscription boxes for monthly comics, but no discount on purchases with those. Staff are friendly and helpful with recommendations! We also love the illustrations done of staff (and Nick drew them)!”
“One of the only non yuppie stores around here, the whole street feels gentrified with most of the overpriced businesses (eyesores) this is a classic bookstore you can love that has lots of affordable new and mostly used books, and they have a variety, down the street there is a store that sells mostly cook books but small inventory and is again a yuppie store so that is just ugly and annoying.”
“This is a great store. For the last few years, we've been sending books to great nieces and nephews out of state. The staff at Annie Blooms have been wonderful helping us pick out books and better yet picking them out for us. The kids have loved them and equally as important, so have their parents.”
“When this place was open years ago, it was OK. Lotta books. But it's been closed for a minute at their original loction.Update: their new spot is beautiful. Obviously, lots of books but art too. Go visit”
“I assume that I will love this place. Toth, the master, declares that the Age of Aquarius is upon us, and every man, woman, and indeed everyone else, we are all a STAR. THANK YOU.”

“MudPuddles Toys and Books—formerly Child's Play—is a great place to get a gift for kids of any age. They have a large variety of toys to choose from. Legos, plushies, puppets, little toys here and there, board games, etc.I would recommend checking it out.”
“An impressive selection, with hard-to-find philosophical texts and translations on hand. The staff are friendly and quite knowledgeable. A surprising stock of graphic novels available too.”
“Loved it. As a English, German, French speaker, I appreciate that books in all languages are sorted into the shelves. I think there was good selection of Spanish and Italian and a smattering of other languages throughout. Powell's has its place, but there's nothing like a bookstore with the vibes of a great uncle's library, the one he's been assembling books since 1937.”

“My favorite book store. Always clean and well stocked, staff are friendly, and local. Only wish is that they carried more horror and indie horror. Will always support Powell's”
“Wonderful bookstore with lots of titles related to the Japanese culture including Manga and Anime. Besides the books you'll find merchandise like vento boxes, chopsticks, plush figures, plates and more based on Ghibli Studios movies.”
“This is such a fun store! The owners really have quite the collection on their hands. If you have an hour or so to spare you should pop in here sometime. You’ll definitely want to give yourself some time to really look around and explore. Tightly packed with stories and endless knowledge, you’ll find yourself getting lost in this tiny place.”

“Took my granddaughter here today so she could pick up some books for her bday. She loved it. It was our first time here. It's definitely a cool bookstore & so much more. She ended up getting 2 books a pen & a coin purse. We had a really good time. I would recommend this store if you love Manga or any kind of Japanese books.”
“Had no idea this existed until we randomly walked by it. Such a cool store! The books that the owner carefully selects are outstanding and space is fun. Highly recommend.”
“Wow, seriously you gotta come in and check this place out! Truly a gem in the rough of Portland I saw some jewelry like I've never seen before, so I'm going to be saving up for it ?”
“I love how I feel exploring this shop because it elicits a sense of nostalgia for the quaint bookstores of yesteryear. Monograph Bookwerks offers an expertly-curated collection of books, art, vintage ephemera and gift items. The owner has done a remarkable job displaying product in creative vignettes throughout the store, with richly hued books standing like sentinels of history, art, literature and culture. This environment really is my happy place. I love the scent of aged paper and polished wood. I feel inspired by the thousands of voices and ideas presented on the pages here, and I can't imagine a world where places like this don't exist. Monograph Bookwerks is located in a popular area of NE Alberta, brimming with fascinating retail shops, restaurants and coffee shops. Street parking can be a bit difficult on weekends and evenings, but visitors will be far more likely to find spaces if they venture down the side streets. Look for the brightly colored arrow proclaiming "Books," pointing to the ivy-covered shop on the corner. It's so important to shop small and local, and to support the business owners who pour themselves into creating enchanting establishments like this. So take a moment out of your busy life to explore this delightful corner of Portland. Hopefully you'll enjoy your visits just as much as I do.”
“A delight. I trust the staff's recommendations; they’re so knowledgeable about the material, and it’s curated beautifully. Get a punch card: you’ll be coming back.”
“What a lovely, welcoming place. Rabbi Chayim was incredibly kind to me and went above and beyond trying to get me some needed items after needing to close a little early one day. This is a great place to support (and find support) if you're looking for nice Judaica or a welcoming Jewish space. I'm certain I'll be back.”
“I was visiting Portland and heard about this store from a friend and had a really fun time looking at comics and chatting with the owner about books. Great place and will for sure be back next time I’m in town!”
“I love coming here. Bring the youth and wait for them here is it a non boring place. I love I get to read a book before buying it. And buy me a drink without leaving outside”
