“Being new in town, we went down to this branch to open checking accts on a Thursday afternoon, and it was pretty laidback. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted warmly and then passed to a young woman named Amber who walked us through the whole process. They were having a glitch of some kind that forced her to re-enter all of our data into their database in order to set up the accts, so we walked over to a sandwich shop in the same plaza in the meantime. Once we returned, everything was ready to roll, and she gave us her personal number and email to contact her with any questions. She set up our online banking and emailed us the login info, and replied to our emails quickly to help us get the online banking setup correctly & customized. We have been local-credit-union customers back in California for years now, and even we were impressed by this level of personal service. We were also plied with nice schwag for joining: nice sleek travel coffee mugs, and a small bag of coffee! Only in Portland.... However, it did take about 2 hrs for the whole process, which is a bit long considering there were barely any other customers there.”
