“These folks who dedicate their time and energy in providing clothing, household goods and furniture are truly a blessing for the community. I dropped off numerous bags of clothing and shoes because my kids had 2 growth spurts in a year and I believe in giving to others vs selling for profit. Mission Santa Maria works hard with the limited space they have, and I pray God will provide them with a larger location and financial support to continue their mission for the community.”
“This is my favorite of the area's Natural Lands preserves, as it has a pebble trail along the main stretch that is good for kids. Plus additional trails over grass and through the woods. The creek is pretty too, and one of these days I'd love to go tubing in that!”
“I have taken my children to Treetop Kitty Cafe a few times and have always had a positive experience! The woman who runs it is super friendly and the cats are fun to play with. It’s not expensive to go and there are fun, cat-related items available to buy.”
“We had a beautiful hike from the parking area down towards the creek. It was spacious and beautiful and not too long for a hot day. We were there during an event where there was beer for sale and a cornhole setup. Fun day.”
“I was watching a program on TV called Dog Tales, and they mentioned this program on the show. I was so impressed with the service these dogs provide for people who are unable to do things that you and I take for granted. Tasks like laundry, helping with groceries, chores around the house, detecting seizures, etc. I actually cried watching this and I am so amazed with this type of program I just wanted to say God bless you all for the work that you do. And God bless the dogs too!”

“I have a family member living here and always enjoy my visits. The staff is always friendly, professional, and helpful. They make it feel like a home. The grounds are quite beautiful too. And I've eaten there a few times while visiting. It's a great selection and the food is delicious. They've done a fantastic job keeping the residents safe through covid also. Sometimes I wish I lived there!”

“I just approached my 4 year Anniversary of working at Friends Home in Kennett. I work in the Community Life Department (Activities). My responsibilities here are leading the Music Programs, Bible Studies, Technical help for residents, and often help with trips and other Activities with other Community Life staff. I am really enjoying my time working here.I would give Friends Home a 5 star rating because of the care for the residents who live here, appreciation of my work skills, kindess shown by staff and residents, and the willingness to be unique place to live. Friends Home is a wonderful place to live and work. I enjoy collaborating with my colleagues to make the best activitiy programs possible for our residents.In my 4 years, we have started a Resident Choir, a Bible Study, a Tech Class, a Meet the Musician class, a Music Appreciation class, concerts to attend both in the home and outside the home, upgraded our music equipment like a new soundsystem, hand chimes, keyboard, and pianos, and also upgraded our technology by adding 4 brand new Smart TVs for the residents in the facility.Our residents are really wonderful individuals and we care for each and everyone of them. I am thankful to have the opportunity to bring my musical, spiritual, and technical expertise to help each resident with their needs. I am grateful to be on the Friends Home team. This a great place to work.”
