“Jeff will always be my go-to guy for any framing. I am very happy with every piece he has done for me. A few jerseys, and a great city scape photo taken by Dustin McGrew are the highlights of my Pittsburgh themed basement. My pics do not do justice for how good they look on the walls and my guests are immediately drawn to them. Thanks Jeff, I think I got room for one more jersey so I may see you soon….”

“A true gem in Lawrenceville. Went for the Gai/Ikebana exhibit. No admission fee. Clean, airy space. Well-planned exhibit. Also, crafts by local artists for sale and space for makers. Staff was very welcoming. Parked easily on a side street near a small playground.”

“Aesthetically gorgeous shop that is part store and part oddities gallery. They have some beautiful pieces in their collection. Worth a trip across town just to look but they have lots of fun things to buy as well.”

“Despite the bright panels on the outside, Irma Freeman Center for the Imagination is in many ways a blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind of place. Even after having been past it on foot several times, I often had fairly little idea what it was. My first impression was that it might be a community center for disabled or destitute youths, and therefore somewhere that serves a valuable cultural function but in which I have no place. I was very incorrect in this assumption, as I found out later. One day, while the doors were open, I walked in. I was treated to a private, minimalistic indie gallery featuring work by local artists. At the time, the exhibit focused principally on abandoned sites in the Pittsburgh area, with photographs giving an eerie portrait of the region's history. It was as though the photographers were archaeologists documenting recent times that have fallen into obscurity and ruin. This is of course not the only exhibit: Irma Freeman's collections, ever changing, deal with a number of different artists and themes. Gift shop at the front door and opening night receptions every First Friday of the month. Strongly recommend!”

“I’ve done new projects with Mark and Melody and they’re always a delight! Every project begins and ends with care, attention to detail and all the time you need to make the best decisions for you. Every time I’ve gone in there, I’m treated like they were waiting for me to show up and that they have all the time in the world to help get decisions made. I really will never go anywhere else.”

“Great experience! Very patient with my grandma in helping her to pick out a photo and framed it beautifully. Even helped carry the picture to the car. Very nice and welcoming. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend!”

“A beautiful space organized by great people. I opted to skip my walk at commencement in May of 2018 to see the opening of my former professor and now good friend's solo show. A world was opened up to me like never before. Haven't missed one since.”

“Excellent experience with Nicole @ BoxHeart Gallery! We ordered a painting to be shipped to NC. Her communication was excellent (and friendly). We received our painting quickly and it was well-packaged, and we couldn't be happier with the entire experience.”

“I stopped in randomly making my way through The Strip District a few months ago. After looking at his work, I felt I had found the right person to make the urn for my father's remains. My father died 7 years ago, so you can imagine I've been looking for a while. He was kind and respectful, and our whole encounter, he was honest about what he could and couldn't do.He reached out when it was completed, but I was in the middle of a bunch of different crises. He held it for over a month, waiting for me to be able to get there without ever pressuring me. I finally picked it up today. It is exactly what I wanted simple but one of a kind.”

“The woman is a magician! You come in with your ideas and within moments somehow she selects the perfect combination. There are literally hundreds of choices which make up literally thousands of combinations. And yet she does it with her experience, knowledge, and talent. You won’t be disappointed. I tried to go to the discount chain store. What a fiasco that was. I walked out. I walked into Lois Guin and within moments my treasured print had the perfect matting and frame. I am thrilled!!”

“Jason is such a cool guy and stellar tattoo artist! I found him after searching for someone who I could feel confident about their line work and ability to punch in color. I had never been inked and went in terrified. Yep, I found myself hyperventilating but I sat for the process because I knew the finished product would be something worth the pain (I’m a weenie, Jason isn’t heavy handed or anything). Also, to anyone with melanated and darker complexions, I can attest that Jason produces legible and beautifully saturated works. Thank you again, Artisan!”

“We booked the location for a birthday party and the location is wonderful. The event hall is used on weekdays for art events which gives it a beautiful art decor feel with the tables having the paint marks all over it. The event space is huge and there is access to a kitchen right around the corner with refrigerator for storage if required. There are restrooms including family friendly ones in the hallway. The staff at the site were very friendly and responsive. The booking was done online and we were able to connect with the centre staff over call to address our queries. There are around 8 parking spots at the location but there are ample street parking options around the corner. It is located very close to the sewickley downtown where there are multiple restaurants and shops. The art centre is located within a service road which can be confusing for folks visiting for the first time (google mapstakes you to the spot correctly but highly likely someone would miss a turn unknowingly), giving a direction indication might help the visitors.”

“During my recent visit to the Eclectic Art & Objects Gallery inPittsburgh to drop off a landscape painting for restoration, I wasdelighted to find your collection of African Art & artifacts displayedin the new Art-In-Place gallery Showroom. After viewing the variousexamples and reading the background literature and provenance of theitems, I came away with a new appreciation for the highly stylized andunique examples of African Kuba Cloth fabrics, ancient pottery designs, carved ritual masks, and even the more contemporary African paintings. We love the Art-in-place exhibition concept as well as the unique "Try nBuy, Audition Offer" including the lovely Kuba Cloth that I will betrying out in my home. Thanks for all of the wonderful artwork thatyour Gallery brings to Pittsburgh, many of which eventually end-up inmy home!”

“ignore the haters, usually something worth seeing here, shows rotate out frequently. it's a college campus so complaining about the mature nature of work here is pretty hilariously misguided and there are also warning signs anyway.”

“I've been taking a pottery class there and I love it! We're in a small group, we are fairly free to do what we want and our teacher is here to help, answer questions and show us the way.”
