211 W Walnut St, PerkasieI take beer just about as seriously as it's practical to do so, maybe even more. It's my hobby, my passion, and my career. Van Lieus is the real deal. Yes, it's a cool vibe as far as the building and quaint town is concerned, but the beer is the star of the show at this spot. I only had the opportunity to scope out the lagers on this short visit and I plan for a return to hit the hoppy options, but if a brewer can land the subtle flavors of a Helles and Czech Pils and have them shine brilliantly in the glass, that's about all I need to know. There are a LOT of breweries to choose from, but if you actually want to learn what well brewed classic styles are supposed to taste like, stop looking.

The staff is always friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and the ice cream tastes homemade and fresh every time. I look forward to the weekends just so I can stop by and enjoy a scoop (or three). Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves quality ice cream and great local charm!
