When you walk in there is the overwhelming smell of dirty cat litter. It's so bad. It doesn't go away until you're way into the second floor. There's also no restrooms and only about ten chairs total, so you find people sitting on the floors reading and looking through books because you can't sit anywhere.

Fantastic hot chicken at a great price. The coleslaw was delicious but the mashed potatoes and mac n cheese were just ok. However, we really went for the chicken, so we were disappointed. The biscuits were delicious too, but real honey (rather than high frustose concoction) or packets of jam would have made them perfect. Overall, surprised at how good it was!

Center-city Philly Barnes& Noble was a serious disappointment. Big time! Top on the list: no, NO toilet facilities for guests and customers...or the many children picking out books and games.I understand: no food or coffee service. I understand: security issues. I understand: cleaning issues. But just a little thinking would solve those issues. And you didn't even try to solve them.Unbelievably disrespectful!

I do really like the aesthetics and how refreshing this location is. I'm overall a fan of their manga selections, as an avid manga-reader and collector. Went here for two author signings, and I can see why it's the ideal spot.My one star is from my bias of the previous location, where there were three levels, a café, and bathrooms. So, now it's more squished, and like two chairs where one can sit and read for a period of time. Last thing is, they close a few hours earlier than the previous.Overall, still a great place and somewhere I frequent often. Customer service is great from the guards and the booksellers.

A much needed improvement on the old location. Bright, airy and clean. Great, knowledgeable staff and a good selection of books on most topics.

The worst customer service of all time in this store--do yourself a favor and call the 1800 number vs. talking to these disgruntled gremlins that work in store-- this is where the angry trolls from under the bridge are employed, they want you to answer dumb riddle questions before helping you.

Great book store: books of excellent quality, kind customer service, well sectioned store. It is still a little pricey, but definitely worth it. You can find a large variety of titles and authors, and additionally this store lets you order ahead books that may not be in stock, or on their in-store catalogue. Has a section of books in other languages. Recommended.

Great new location, although I miss the iconic Rittenhouse Park location, this will do just as well

Poor selection of books that aren't LBGTQ+ for children especially Black Children. My son and I were very disappointed while shopping here especially in comparison to other Barnes & Noble Stores. This particular store had a entire section with so many option for LBGTQ+ in comparison to children who aren't. The staff didn't even speak to us to the point we didn't even feel welcomed in the first place, just to not find any books worth buying.Fyi: There are many Black writers out there so Barnes & Noble as a whole cooperation should do better at providing more options for Black People in every category of the store.
