Bookhaven is a small, cute, and absolutely lovely local used bookstore. It is a favorite and a local gem, described as everything you've ever wanted from such a place. The store has a huge and wide selection of books across a very big variety of genres, including well-known and lesser-known series and authors. Topics include social and environmental issues, psychology, massive history and fiction selections, poetry, philosophy, and books in different languages. It is fairly well-organized and decently priced, with books approximately 25-50% off retail at very reasonable prices. The store is deceptively larger than it looks from the outside, with two stories, though the upper floor may be tough to access for those with trouble with stairs. The atmosphere is homey and quiet, filled with the unmistakable perfume of thousands of pages. A great bonus is the presence of at least two lovely, well-behaved, peaceful, and cute cats within the store. The owners and staff are super nice, wonderful, and very helpful. It is a place to lose sense of time, a treasure hunt that never disappoints, and one that restores faith in humanity by being filled with people. Customers are strongly recommended to give this local treasure an hour of their time.
Need a book? They have it. Didn't know you needed that book. They have it. In a time of screens, I am always amazed to see this bookstore filled with people, restoring my faith in humanity. Bring tote bags.
