“My partner and I were in Philadelphia for a wedding from DC and Omoi Life Goods was an amazing experience! The shop was so gorgeous and well merchandised and assorted. I forget who the shop worker was but we visited on November 1st in the afternoon and they were lovely showing us an array of notebooks.
My FAVORITE part was that they offered little mini tours of their favorite shops, cafes, restaurants and more in nearby neighborhoods like Old City, South Street, and Chinatown. GREAT for tourists like us.
It was also fantastic to see community activism in supporting Philly Chinatown and its long time community. Being from DC we have seen significant redevelopment in our Chinatown which has greatly impacted the neighborhoods elder residents.
I cannot recommend this store enough!”

“I cannot say enough positive things about Workshop Underground. My husband and I stumbled into the store one day and were immediately awed by how beautiful the displays and jewelry are. We saw that they had wedding rings available, and struck up conversation with Ruben and Bopa. They toured us around the store, offered us some beverages, and shared their business and design ideas with us—we immediately felt like family. I brought my mother in for a ring fitting and she ALSO fell in love with the store. She bought an infinity band there, which she had wanted for a long time, and could not stop raving about Ruben and Bopa and her whole experience working with them. My husband and are so happy we chose Workshop Underground for our wedding bands (and some other fun pieces of jewelry too, of course) and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for high quality and unique jewelry with impeccable customer service.”
“I very much enjoy Stump in Northern Liberties. They care about plants and helping you find what you're looking for. Today I picked out a new plant with the help of the team. We landed on Philodendron Micans because I was looking for a plant I could be a bit more flexible with as far as lighting goes. “It’s a quite eclectic but lovely store by Isaiah Zagar and his wife. Really cool store!! Everywhere you turn, you see something else that catches your eye. You can call it a gallery because it’s just an eye candy, but would say it’s more like a store with multiple artwork from all over the world. We bought a nice cat mask from Mexico and nice bowl from Turkey. The art is reasonably priced and the staff is very friendly.”

“Some of the items can seem a little pricey, BUT I still go here whenever I need a last minute gift or a little something for someone - especially for a baby! There are so many adorable, unique gifts and trinkets. Some of my favorite home decor items are from here. And they're always the ones people comment on when they visit.
You'll find yourself walking around and saying "wow, {insert friend's name} would love this," every time you turn around. If you're in Mannyunk you definitely need to check this place out!”
“OMG!! What I cannot say about this neighborhood staple!! My mother bought the fabric to sew my sister and I matching summer outfits 70+yrs ago. I purchased my fabric to make my first a-line skirt and all my roll clothes fabrics (when this place was James&Jones)! The creek of the original wood floors to the smell of fabric is a memory I cherished and takes me back to when Germantown has Buster Brown, Duval's Hoagie shop, Rowells Department Store and you didn't need to go out of the familiar to buy anything ❤️❤️”

Not only did Kazan ( the owner) spend plenty of time going over our options, he chose great looking fixtures which were delivered earlier than promised. When I came time for the installation, I contacted him with questions from our electricians. He answered the questions and emailed me instruction sheets for the electricians to use. That's service!!!”
“Walking into Hello World Modern Mercantile was such a visual delight! I had first read about the store online where information found on the website suggested shopping in person would offer the fullest selection. So true! There is an immense array of gift items waiting to be discovered, so much so that I walked around the store several times. I did not want to overlook anything. The staff are terrific, and the store is an easy walk from 30th Street Station. Be sure to check it out!”

“Bargains to hunt and you don't need to get a license to bag some deals. Curious collection of items both one offs and bulk from light bulbs to tents to tile adhesive tv sets or 10$ brand new Levi's. Couches, tables, chairs, tools... If you hate the incipient waste and mark up of prices in today's society or need 300 chalk marking lines, look no further... You can look further, but I mean come on it's right there on Washington, why drive elsewhere...9.5/10 staff deserves an A.”

“I'm very particular about wallpaper and when I began searching for the perfect seamonster/maritime themed wallpaper I knew it wasn't going to be easy. Shortly after walking into Colonial Wallcoverings Paul got right to the point by interrogating me on my entire family lineage, why I'd been to Israel despite my not being Jewish and of course the ins and outs of the Tom Wait's back catalogue. After a brief 3 hours the deal was done and the elusive wallpaper for my new Philly pad was on its way. He even set me up with Gordon the Irish Wallpaper God for the install.I will never buy wallpaper from anybody other than Colonial Wallcoverings for else for the rest of my days.
