“Took my new rescue for a bath on the way home from a very muddy Wiss walk. The staff was so kind and helped me navigate the other dog there, as Molly and I hadn’t gotten to dog-reactivity training yet. We had so much fun there, and the staff provided everything we needed. I highly recommend and wish I lived closer!”

I brought 2 of my corn snakes who have not been eating for months to this store asking for help. Ive been really concerned about that. The staff here is very nice, telling me a lot and that both snakes are healthy so I don’t need to worry too much, and gave me some suggestions as well. I bought two live pinkies and the result is - both of them did eat!! I’m so grateful and excited.”

“Good experience over all. We got our puppy's first set of shots for 13.00, which is great. But you have to give the dog the shots yourself. We also got a huge bone for him to chew on. He loves it. We'll be back for our next set of shots.”
“Wonderful A to Z. We just had our 4th grooming appointment with our skittish, 8 month old Shiba Inu pup. Mindy is so great with her - I was pleased to see the airplane ears when Mikan saw her.
She does a great job with the nail grind and Mikan always smells so fresh and even though she’s shaking, I know she’s happy. And we are happy too!”

“Maggie is wonderful with my Biewer Terriers and does a great job with their cut. They get excited to see her which means a lot to me that they don’t feel anxious. We sadly moved out of the city but I will always recommend Maggie to anyone looking for a high quality cut for pure bred dogs in the city.
However, the name of the boutique fits the rest of the staff. No one says greets me when I walk in and the front desk girl is always on her phone. They just look up from their phone, scream Maggie’s name, and then go back to their phone. And they are a bit weird about scheduling. I asked if we could just keep the pups on the schedule for every 6 weeks and they said they couldn’t do that nor keep a card on file. You do get a high quality cut but not the best customer service. I guess that’s what you get with a place called “Pet Snobs”.”

“Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting Anima Pet Supply and was met with absolutely fantastic service. I’m a mom to a four year old GSD, and K was excellent at showing me different foods, explaining what they all stand for, and pointing out some of the best treat makers in town!
She has an abundant collection of all sorts I swear I mentally bought the entire store 😂. Seriously, if you’re someone who loves spoiling your pet, prepare to be tempted by everything in there.
One thing that really stood out to me is how community oriented K is. She addresses everyone by name as soon as she learns it. Usually people mispronounce mine, but she got it right on the nose the first time! That level of attentiveness really says a lot about how much she values the people who come through the door.
She’s also incredibly passionate about her work, and it truly pours out of her. You can feel that this isn’t just a job for her it’s something she genuinely loves. That kind of energy makes the whole experience feel welcoming and personal.
When you visit Anima, you’re bound to leave with great products and a lovely connection moving forward. Ricochet and I will most certainly be returning. You can tell the entire staff is genuinely excited about the service they provide, and that makes such a difference.
And for my fellow GSD owners and enthusiasts Anima has an extraordinary collection of natural animal parts and treats, and the store is very accommodating for large dogs as well. It’s honestly a great spot for anyone with a big pup who likes quality options.”

The store cat Punky Brewster is an icon in the neighborhood, it’s worth a visit just to say hi.”

“We recently moved from Florida and needed to find a new groomer for our poodle. We were out exploring our neighborhood here in Northern Liberties and found Doggy Style Pets. I looked on website and made a reservation for grooming. The rep contacted me about vet records and helped get the info needed from our old vet in FL. Took our baby in today and his haircut was long overdue but he came out looking amazing! I also have to say all the groomers we used in FL charged a premium for poodles but DSP doesn't have anything like that and the total cost was about 1/2 the price of what we used to pay in FL.. Great service and a great haircut. We will be back!”

“I don’t even know where to begin—this review is long overdue. I absolutely love Pit Stop HQ, and so does my dog, Pluto. I’d truly be lost without it.
Pluto has separation anxiety, and my housing situation makes it tough to leave him alone (barking isn’t really tolerated). Pit Stop has been a total game-changer. They make everything so easy. The fact that it’s hourly is a huge plus—I can drop Pluto off for just a couple of hours to run errands without having to pay for a full day, which isn’t the case at many other daycares in the city.
Pluto has an absolute blast every time he goes. The staff is warm, supportive, and just really good humans—friendly, personable, and clearly animal lovers. It’s also become my go-to for boarding, and Pluto treats it like an extra-long daycare session. When I leave him there, I have zero worries about his well-being. I know he’s in excellent hands.
The first time he stayed for a full week, I picked him up and—this might sound small, but it meant so much—he had no eye boogies. That’s never happened unless someone was gently cleaning them for him. That level of care says it all.
They’re also super accommodating about Pluto’s picky eating habits, including all the little accoutrements I add to his food. And most of all, I know they love him—and that matters.
The pricing is fair, the flexibility is unbeatable, and the love is real. This place is the shit. Thank you, Pit Stop HQ, for taking such good care of my guy.”

“I'm embarrassed it took me this long to write this review because Doggie Style Pets is such an obvious five-star business. I've been making a conscious effort to show love to the local places that make our neighborhood special, and this one absolutely deserves it.
I've been bringing my dog Archie here for grooming for nearly four years, and I've never had a bad experience. The groomers do an excellent job, and Archie always comes out looking great, happy, and proud of his fresh haircut. He has a lot of energy and isn't always the easiest customer, but the team is patient, thoughtful, and clearly cares about the animals they work with. When Archie was a puppy, he would get nervous walking past the store. These days, he's largely outgrown that fear and seems to know that his glow-up is worth the trip.
I've compared their grooming prices with those of larger chains like PetSmart and found Doggie Style's pricing fair and competitive. What sets them apart is that you're supporting a local Philadelphia business that genuinely takes the time to get to know its customers and pets.
Beyond grooming, the store carries a great selection of treats, food, toys, shampoo, and other pet supplies. The staff is knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to answer questions. They also frequently have rescue dogs available for adoption, which is always a highlight and a wonderful resource for anyone looking to add a dog to their family.
One thing I'd recommend is booking grooming appointments in advance. Their reputation is well deserved, and appointments can fill up a few weeks out. I've always appreciated that they'll sometimes call when an earlier opening becomes available.
We've recommended Doggie Style Pets to countless people over the years. People regularly stop us at the dog park or on neighborhood walks to compliment Archie and ask where he gets groomed. Doggie Style Pets on Spruce is always our recommendation.
