“If you want cold, sterile and unhelpful- go anywhere else. If you want to be treated like a valuable human, Stanley's is the place to go.
When you walk in, they ask how they can help you. When you tell them, they will explain any other supplies you may need as well. They are the perfect consultants. We also had an antique lamp that required some repairs. Someone else wanted to take it home as a side project. It came out far better than we expected.
On top of hiring locals and having staff who have been around for ages, it's a breath of fresh air going in there. I can't recommend them enough.”
“Incredible store. They have so many things available including 5 gal water jugs, anything you may need around the house. Owners and employees are always extremely nice and helpful. Wish this business nothing but success ?”
“This is one of my favorite stores in the city. Anytime I have a question about a project, I’ve always found a staff member who can point me in the right direction with good advice on which products to use.”

“Great place! Always helpful and they have everything you’d find in Home Depot or Lowe’s. Bud difference between is that you can actually get someone to help you.”
“Incredible local store. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and kind staff. The man at the counter helped me find exactly what I was looking for, and then some. ;) Lots of older USA-made stock; great when you have something like a light fixture from an older era that you want to carry NOS spare parts for.”
“Great relic that is also very functional... They are the ONLY supplier in the city that carries Limeworks products for historical pointing. Love coming here. Chestnut Hill is one of my favorite parts of Philadelphia!”
“Imagine walking into a hardware or improvement store and always having assistance and knowledge immediately available instead of wondering around and hoping someone will not only help you but know what they are talking about.
That’s exactly what Blaise and the team at 3rd St Hardware serve up every time we are in a pinch to complete a project or need suggestions on how to tackle a new one.
Since joining the neighborhood, we have been so grateful this shop exists and we aren’t relegated to only a big-box experience.
Thank you Blaise and everyone at 3rd St Hardware!”
“The staff were super friendly and helpful. Gave me suggestions for secondary options if the part I purchased didn't meet my satisfaction, once I took it home.”
“Want to talk to an employee who actually knows what they carry and provide you with intelligent advice? This is the place! Despite their small footprint, I've yet to walk out without what I needed; they've got it all! And their prices are competitive to the big box stores. You won't be disappointed. These guys are the best!!”
“The new plexiglass window and rescreening of an old screen was done in in excellence, in record time (same day), and the cost was moderate. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable; they knew their stuff. I will be back again.”
“Awesome woodworkers supply store and even better customer service. Found items here that no one else seems to be able to stock, and with very reasonable prices too. I ordered a track guide which i could not find anywhere else in stock, and received it promptly, but it was damaged in shipping. Wrote the company about the damage just to make them aware of the packaging. Well they send me another complete replacement set with no hassles. Its really nice to still do business with people who actually care about their customer service. Can't go wrong with a company like this, and i highly recommend them to anyone needed wood working tools.”
“Fairmount Hardware is a neighborhood institution, with good reason. Dave, the owner, goes out of his way to help non-professionals with their projects, large and small. He wired a lamp for me, he also cut glass to put in a frame I had, saving me the expense of having a framer do it.
I think he tries to impart to the young people he hires to work in the hardware store as much of his wisdom as possible. Yesterday, he instructed a young trainee as to how to remove a bit of rust on a porcelain plaque I brought in.
Today, another trainee made a great suggestion as to how I might attach the plaque to a Target basket with wingbolt nuts and butterfly screws, rather than the furniture nails I’d bought the day before.
The clerk at the cash register gave me a credit for the unused furniture nails I had bought the day before and deducted the cost of the two wingbolt nut and screws —you cannot get better service than that anywhere.
Hail Dave and his team!”
“The store was clean, and merchandise is displayed in a logical organized fashion. The gentleman at the register was friendly, as was another associate who helped me make a selection. On top of that, their prices are good. I particularly like the fact that the store isn't two city blocks in size to accommodate every product under the sun, and you can get in and get out before the season changes.”

“Frank was so helpful while we were getting our sump pump! The other cashiers were busy on the phone and Frank swooped in to open a check out. Also he was able to answer all our questions about the products.”
“I visit this store frequently and I never have an issue. Very clean, always able to get the help I need, and the bathroom are clean. The coupons will help you save money on items that are already low cost.”
“I do maintenance around the block. This is the Best neighborhood hardware store. Very reasonable prices, great service. I can find here almost anything I need. Saves me a lot of trips to Home Depot.”
“After a horrendous experience at a Southampton Ace store I drove up and had the complete opposite experience. They had everything I needed and three different people offered help with I smile. This is my new go to hardware store!”
“Had to go here today for a real estate issue with a lock. This hardware store had just what I needed and saved me a trip. Good customer service, decent prices, quality products. Thanks to the gentleman who assisted me and taught me how to use the tool I needed correctly.

“I came to J Lorber after searching 2 other stores. I was desperate to find this “online only” item and the gentlemen behind the counter were awesome and helped me right away. Thank you for the professional service and the cool Tshirt. A+”
“The staff are on point with everything you may have questions about they also can recommend a place to get an item if they don't have it in stock or do not carry”
“Once again we had fantastic service from one of the owners of 10th Street Hardware. This time it was Steve DeShong. He spent a goodly amount of time on Saturday trying to figure out how to fix a broken soap dispenser (purchased elsewhere) we had brought in. Even though he couldn't get it to work (and we ended up buying a new one from his store), we were impressed with his determination to help us. We have been loyal customers of this store for years and value the fantastic advice and help we get from Steve and his partner Troy Usnik.”
“I needed some bubble wrap for packing before moving, and though he doesn’t sell these at his store, Cohen was happy to give away some bubble wrap he had in his store storage room. A kind person and great store for your hardware needs!”
“Every time I walk into this shop I get the help I need. Today I ran into an issue with an expensive project I was doing and the woman behind the counter did everything she could to help and make sure i got the tools I needed. Even got help from some customers who had a drill on hand thanks to her.”
“Very Helpful staff. I’ve shopped there when I was doing a job up the street. They have just about everything. I had some questions about a custom hydraulic hose and they gave me directions to a store in maple shade that was also delightful. Great people. highly recommended”
“I was so impressed with how efficient Hatboro Lumber was! I spoke to Dan and he was awesome in getting my order taken care of asap and seamlessly when another lumber company dropped the ball! Will only deal with Hatboro Lumber moving forward! Thank you so much!”
“Great local hardware store, with a good selection of paint colors to choose from. I stopped by just for paint, and the employee who helped me was very nice. I appreciated not being overly talked to, and he was quick with getting my paint all mixed together. It's nice to have a store in the neighborhood that's easy to walk to.”
“Great service, great selection without the long lines.Neighborhood hardware store who knows your name.Supporting local businesses is very important to your community.Same owners for 2 generations they must be doing something right”

“Very friendly, helpful customer service. There’s a little bit of everything here with good, competitive prices. Prices are about equal to big online retailers, with the bonus of supporting local business! So thankful to have a place like this so close to my home.”
“I was in the store on 11/10/2023 and I came back because I had very good service last time. The person who helped me was really nice and very helpful. This place is a hidden gem.”
