“Sue's Market has some really good meat. Her meat counter, featuring a LOT of local meats, is worth your while, and your money. Their butchers know meat, and Sue, the owner, is always there, making sure their products are top notch.
I know Sue, and have had her custom order me hams, ribs, loins. I buy her meats.
Now, my insider tip: Her ground beef is the absolute best. You are able to see the meat prep area when you there. When they grind hamburger, they put chunks of beef into the grinder, and double grind the meat. NO ADDED WATER, NO CHUNKS OF FAT, NO FILLERS.
The ground beef almost looks unreal - a bright red color. It's because it's real meat. No BS. Thanks, Sue. Thank your crew.”
“Love, love, love Andy's. I get my meats here as often as I can. Very friendly and always quality for very reasonable prices. Don't sleep on their MTO subs either :)”
“Hey Elaine try asking for chipped lunch meat, having worked in a deli, you can only go so thin, and slice it, only other option is chipped if you like it paper thin.”
“Fantastic place to buy delicious foods and beverages. Super friendly staff made my first trip here a great experience. Will be back when visiting friends in Lancaster!”
“I am glad I can still get 50 lb. bags of rolled oats for my wallabies here. On the other hand, they no longer sell my favorite form of chocolate, Chocolate Fruit Basket. Please join me in asking them to bring this item back!”
“Gas is so much cheaper than other close gas stations around. You have to be a member, but the plus side is they do certain deals, and if you buy the item that shows a gas pump, it takes additional money off at the pumps. The only downfall is if you filled up elsewhere and then shop there, you can't use the gas reward coupons because your car is already full. It's hit or miss with having to get gas, and when you need to shop, because sometimes we blow through gas and you never know when the coupons come etc.”
“Their own Excellent homemade fresh baked goods. Also a huge variety of spices, nuts, baking goods, a small selection of frozen items, fruits and vegetables and dry goods”
“Since it was Amelia's, I've enjoyed popping in now and then because they can have the coolest off-the-wall stuff!
And the staff are very pleasant.”
“You guys are amazing, you have the best bread, I love your subs so much.
I am so happy you guys are open again, I was so sad when you guys were closed.”
“I’ve been shopping at Stauffers of Kissel Hill for several years now, and it’s my go-to spot for quality groceries. I usually stop in for their produce, deli lunch meats, poultry, seafood, and baked goods—and they consistently deliver. I also found out that SKH is the only supermarket around that sells the Boulder cut of beef, which I use for my shredded beef, so that alone keeps me coming back.
Their deli has a wide variety of lunch meats and cheeses, and everything is always fresh and well stocked. I’m a big fan of their seafood department too—the fresh fish and shellfish are top-notch. As for the bakery, in my opinion, SKH has the best-tasting pumpkin pie in all of Lancaster, PA.
While their prices are definitely higher than other supermarkets, I honestly think it’s worth it because of the quality and wide selection they offer across the board. Stauffers of Kissel Hill is my number one supermarket, and I recommend it to everyone.”
“One of my favorite stores, even though I now drive an hour to get to the one in Lancaster. Staff is very friendly, produce, desserts and sea food are great. I miss the food bars, though. They shut them down during the pandemic and never reopened. Same with their restaurant.”
“I like this grocery store! It is my preferred grocery store. I had very good service at the meat counter by a new employee. It seems like the employees enjoy working together throughout the store.
Their bake shop is pretty good. They have a great selection of ice cream, and some brands are locally made.
They have great fresh vegetables. They often have locally grown vegetables when in season.
This store is always clean. The aisles are not cluttered with extra products in cardboard display units. The prices are clearly marked on the shelves with a unit of pricing to be able to compare products.
The store is bright. It is clean. The employees are there to serve their customers.
GREAT job, John Herrs Village Market! Keep up the high standard that you have set.”
“Herr's greatest strength is that it's convenient. It's a very traditional, small town mom and pop, type convenience store. The type of store where the employees remember your names and what you like to buy.”
“These guys are friendly and knowledgeable. Old school place where customer service is top priority. They have a great variety of products. One of the few places that sell heating oil to customers who cart it themselves because they can't afford delivery rates 300 gallons at a time.”
“People are friendly, store needs to be arranged a little different it's a bit clustorphobic but otherwise great place. Has goods and stuff so I don't have to walk all the way into the city. Had the diapers I needed”
“I always go shopping here before another typical grocery store and it's an awesome place to find new things to try at prices that make trying new things less scary!”
“I was a Bj's member for 35 years and enjoyed the stores products and prices. After moving I went there less and less often to the point of this year when I cancelled the membership. Having auto-renewal something went wrong and I was incorrectly charged. I sent a note to Capital One (who administered the financing and credit) however it was ignored and then the debt fees and interests compiled to where the amount owed was now DOUBLE the yearly renewal fee! I figured I better bite the bullet because in today's world it seems like corporations take advantage of the customer. I wrote a nasty email to BJ's. To my surprise Stella (and on last email Keith) took it upon themselves to right the situation and I was replenished the full amount (late fees, penalty and interest). I feel that was such excellence in support I had to come up here and write a review. Thx very much! Ted Dezso”
“It is yo boi, ga ga gammy saaantoooo. WOAH!! Ammmmmmaaazing! Can we show some of the legendary support for the superheroes that create the masterpiece called the corner sub. The food here is the BEST in the WEST (I got those b-bars! Ay!) Well, we ain't in the West but I gotta say. This food is da fricken bomb! Love it all. Especially the meat balls brother, I would rap all day about their wraps. Mmmmmhm see what I did there buddy. OHHH YEAAAAAH! Also. Just gotta say. They soda is ALWAYS cold and never leaves me on my toys with freezes from the hill. Cost me bout a quarter for a quarter of they dinna dinna that can server you, you momma, and yo akslawip. One complaint, I was looking for TV's and thy didn't sell em there. Sup wit dat eh”
“I love shopping at Wegmans. I find items that I can't find in other grocery stores. BEEF back ribs are hard to find, Wegmans sells them. The product I enjoy the most is the Kimmelwek rolls.”
“Pros: 1. The Turkish woman at the counter was very nice and helpful. 2. Convenient parking 3. Great selection 4. Fair prices
Con: The lokum I purchased was bad so I had to throw it away.
Will I go back? Yes. Mistakes happen in business.”
“I go here all of the time for sandwiches and other stuff like drinks. Everyone is super nice and their selection is great. My favorite is the tripleta sub - easily the best I have had. You can also call ahead 15-20 mins for pickup to make your stop quick”
“You made our Thanksgiving Special. I drove down from Hazleton PA. I had ordered a week in advance and phoned that I would be coming a day earlier for the Turkey Breast Roast. Well unfortunately due to a slight mix up it wasn’t ready. They were so very accommodating and apologetic and reassured they would prepare in an hour. This is an exceptional business. All the employees are cheerful and pleasant and cannot do enough please. Beyond that our Turkey Breast Roast was absolutely delicious. Moist , tender, perfect. Thank You Sensenig Poultry!! We will be back again for sure.”
“Lidl's employees are friendly and helpful. I love the atmosphere.
Update, Lidl's store was well stocked and employee's continue to be helpful and friendly.”
“Best corner store. Great food menu, reasonable prices, and the service is always pleasant. Coming from Jersey to PA was a change (good & bad) this corner store gives me a piece of the good, having that Papi (Jersey/NY) corner store kind of vibe (if you know you know). Lastly, the beef and cheese empanadas are amazing, my family moved far outside of the city but my children never miss an opportunity in ask to take the ride for their favorite empanadas.”
“Definitely the majority of their prices are cheaper than other stores. Just be careful because you could pay more for certain items but if you only want to make one trip it's a good place to go.”
“I have to say that the Italian Subs are the best. When I don't feel like cooking i ordered them over the phone and then I go pick them up. They are really good”
“The Pharmacy is fantastic. We've been dealing with Joe for years and he's phenomenal. Gavin seems like he's the same way. The girls are always pleasant and knowledgeable!”
“Nice local grocery store. Their prices are on par with giant or weis. They have the best fresh made donuts, of course. They have great sales and a rewards card program. Their deli has a great selection.”
“All employees there are helpful and welcoming! Way better experience than I thought it be. Nicole was at checkout and went above and beyond to help me out and helped me find my product! Will recommend and return with family and friends!”
“I visited that place a lot for little things mostly my meats and cheeses at their Deli stand . homemade baked goods cookies cakes casseroles macaroni salad potato salad Etc.”
