Hodu is my first dog of my own, so little did I know, I thought that less shedding meant less maintenance. And Kelly has taught me the importance of daily brushing and regular grooming. She’s been with us from the very first haircut!!
She meticulously plans out the entire yearly grooming schedule at the beginning of the year. I first thought it was a huge commitment, but I quickly realized how effective it is. If I inform her of any changes or need to reschedule ahead of time, she was very flexible and accommodating. This system really helped me stay on top of Hodu’s grooming needs.
Even after we moved to a new city, Kelly went above and beyond to find a groomer for us. She really made sure there’s no gap during our relocation. I really loved that she puts the dog’s needs first and Hodu always looked cute after the haircut.

University Drive Veterinary Hospital
1602 University Drive, State CollegeI found UDVH during my last year of grad school at Penn State and I wish I had found them sooner! I had an absolutely wonderful experience here and so did my cat. (cat photo below)
The front office is incredibly friendly, responsive, and helpful every single time I contacted them. We never had any issues with scheduling, communication, or care (they even help me get set up with Centre County Paws for spaying my kitten).
Our vet, Dr. Lincoski, was wonderful. She was attentive, kind, and patient. I brought in my new Ragdoll kitten (after only ever having a very agreeable senior cat), so I was overly worried about every small thing she did or didn't do. Dr. Lincoski never made me feel silly for asking questions (even though I'm sure some of them probably were) and she took time to reassure me, explain things, and make me feel heard. Such a relief as an anxious pet parent to have a vet/staff who are not just knowledgable, but compassionate.
I can't recommend UDVH enough! If my cat did not get severely carsick, I'd honestly drive her 2 hours from Pittsburgh to keep seeing Dr. Lincoski and the UDVH staff.

1700 West College Avenue, State CollegeDr Kocher is very intense (and at times it’s intimidating) but she’s also very thorough and explains things in great detail which I find to be very admirable. Overall this place is good but my experiences have been mixed depending on the doctor. Recently I had a different doctor and I paid for a senior exam and it wasn’t clear that she examined anything (aside from doing her anal glands which was my main concern) yet I still paid for her senior wellness exam. Dr. Kocher usually explains in great detail about how the exam went. Today I was just left to assume everything was good without confirmation. It honestly felt like she forgot to do the exam but I was charged for it anyway.

When your pets are in need, it's great to go to an animal hospital that truly cares. They go out of their way to be nice and helpful. Recommend and know where I'll be going while I'm in State College!

1044 Benner Pike, State CollegeLate Tuesday night my families dog went after a porcupine and got shot with its quills in up his nose , chin , feet etc. I was currently at another emergency vet that’s closer to home being told it was a 6 hour wait and he was in pain and didn’t want him to wait that long so I looked up other emergency vets near me and VCA Metzger State College came up so I gave them a call and asked how long the wait would be and they told me an hour and that was perfect because it was an hour drive so I brought him here and when we got there he was weighed and taken back right away and they treated him so wonderful I can’t tell you how friendly the staff was to me and Moose you can tell how much they care for animals it shows. If I have any other issues with animals even my dog I will definitely go out of my way to make the drive to go there I highly recommend taking your animal here for an kind of emergency you have ! Thank you VCA metzger for helping Moose he is doing very well!

The waffle fries were hot, crispy, and definitely homemade. Prices were also unbeatable, 12.99 for a 1lb fried chicken meal with rice.

The lattes are great as well but there’s so much milk in lattes it’s hard to taste a difference between coffee shops.
Flat whites are next up. Do yourself a favor and order an iced flat white from here.

Although it looks like merely a convenience store—with chips, soft drinks, magazines, etc. — in the back is a full kitchen, where they can make salads, sandwiches, schawarma platters, soups…and all of it looks delicious. I had a Southwestern salad, and I think it was the best, freshest salad I ever had in an airport, in over 50 years of flying. Add to that a PERFECTLY made espresso with fresh Colombian beans, and you have a winner. A great experience, highly recommended! AAAAA

Small and cozy (but it was a back) thus the atmosphere rating. Wasn't there to look, I was there to eat...which was great.....ate out on their wooden patio. Construction going on around outside but it did not affect my enjoyment of the meal.
