“My girls love this place! They actually like when I take them to different locations. Some stores may be bigger then others and some items run out very fast so we go to several of them. The staff is usually very nice and helpful especially if my girls are looking for something specific. You can be in there for a whIle looking bc they have so much stuff. I actually bought the gifts that are going to be won at a baby shower Im having for daughter in law. They had some good ideas for the prizes and they werent expensive. I did a duck them since its at our pool and they had floating ducks as well as these little bags of baby ducks that will be spread out along the tables. They also had pool toys and blow up things for the party. It was perfect.”

“I remember moving from Philadelphia to here and my friend told me of the dollar store right up the street.. I was so happy to find something so close for some grab & goes, ended up doing the light load of grocery shopping.. Now this place has gotten way better theñ 13 years ago.. now you can get chicken, Fish and a lot more here... love it, pricing isn't to bad either, especially when your rent is well over 1000. But it does the job, considering it's only me...This is one of my favorite stores on this side of town. My quick fast and in a hurry go to place When you really need to cook something.. But then I went this morning to get something according to the hours printed on here, thàt this place opens at 8am, I live across the street and walked down at 845 this morning and it's closed... So now i had to go 2 blocks to dollar general, and gave 5hem my business.. if your gonna have the young people work that's fine, but make sure they can get up early enough to open the store for customers.. like what is it that its so hard to get up, go to work and do your Job. You have people who need things and no one is in your place....”
“What I like about family dollar is the same thing I like about The dollar general stores. And that is, that they are strategically placed in locations that are in between Walmarts. So if a person has a necessity that they need from a discount shopping store, and Walmart just seems a little too out of reach with your busy day and traffic, There is always a family dollar or dollar general within 2 miles to 1 mile. Strategy. The plus with that, is, that they have great products and great prices like Walmart, in reference to food items. Anything else such as housewares electronics aren't as low priced as Walmart. There are things I get exclusively at family Dollar, that I will post in the picture section. I love their trademark chili without beans, it eats more like a thick soup with ground beef...I also go here for cat treats. I used to go here for birdseed because a nice size bag went for $3.49, Now I see since the pandemic that price has raised to $5.49. And just a heads up, all dollar trees are now no longer $.99. All dollar trees are now dollar $1.25...And just for the record I believe dollar general stores bought out dollar tree stores and that's why dollar tree stores have raise their price from $.99 to $1.25. They have wonderful deals on their family pack of toilet paper, tissues, paper products, laundry items and cleaning items...lower prices that are lower than any of the grocery stores around.”

Burlington Stores is giving its locations a major makeover. The off-price retailer has already transformed about half of its 1,115 stores and plans to complete the redesign across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. The company calls this makeover "Store Experience 2.0." Gone are the cramped aisles and confusing layouts that once defined discount shopping. Instead, Burlington is creating wider walkways, organized sections, and clearer signs to help shoppers find what they need.
Dollar General is adding more of its private label food offerings to stores, following similar moves by big retailers like Walmart and Amazon as store brands keep growing in popularity. The store is launching new items under its own labels, including ice cream, cinnamon rolls, coffee syrups, and salad dressings. The move comes as store brand sales reached $271 billion in 2024, up nearly 4% from 2023.
Daiso, the beloved Japanese retailer known for its variety of affordable household goods, is expanding further in the U.S. market. This week, the company is celebrating the grand openings of three new stores in Texas and California. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Daiso debuted an 8,000-sq.-ft. location in Beaumont, Texas, at Dowlen Towne Center, as well as two Southern California stores - a 6,319-sq.-ft. space in Van Nuys at Mid Valley Marketplace and a 5,200-sq.-ft. store in Westminster at Westminster Center.
Dollar Tree is moving into 170 former 99 Cents Only stores, marking a big shift in the discount retail landscape. The company announced Wednesday it's taking over leases in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas, with plans to reopen the stores under its own brand as early as fall 2024.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet just landed a great deal of its own, winning a $14.6 million bankruptcy auction for 11 former 99 Cents Only store locations across Texas. The discount retail chain pounced after 99 Cents Only abruptly went out of business in March, shuttering all 371 of its stores in California, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. Ollie's quickly made an opening "stalking horse bid" to grab over a dozen of the empty properties.
