“I spent many a mornings in the 90s stopping at West Side Bait. Stopped in this weekend before heading up to Francis Slocum State Park. I don't get back to my home stomping grounds nearly enough and was pleased to find this family business still running and in its second generation! The nostalgia for me was phenomenal!”

“Need skis from a local, knowledgeable skier and snow sports retailer? Shop here. Mountain Mike helped me right out with a set of flash Atomic skis and boots that got me shredding that morning.”

“Working with Ty to plan an excellent group outing even as a visiting team's fan was wonderful. He went the extra mile everywhere to make sure our first bus trip experience was wonderful. We really enjoyed the quality of the handouts and we're really excited to see a different arena. We will definitely be back.”

“If I could give 6 stars I would. Where to start... easy communication with the team at the field house. Easy organization for doing group orders, provides shipping if not local, tons of options for products. When you get the products back everything is individually bagged with recipe it so you don't have to sort them. 2nd time using them and I know I'll be back. Thank you all!”

“While the stock of items isn't such that certain specific things may not be in stock if you need them, they have plenty to get you going if you're up for vacation and want to fish. The man running the shop was very nice, and they had a few things I would not be able to find anywhere else. If you're in the area and need a new rod, some line, swivels and hooks, or some cool plastic baits, swing in!”

“Good place n l friendly staff. To the person that gave the low review I've never had a problem with service or orders. If the company you ordered from was slow is not the shops fault.”

“I had to bring my granddaughter here to get fitted for her cheer uniform. I was unaware that I needed to have a appointment. I drove over an hour to get there. The gentleman in the store could not have been nicer and did not make me or my granddaughter feel like we made a mistake. He graciously called the woman who does the fittings and asked if she was anywhere in the area. Thankfully she was and came right over with her mother who she was spending time with. She as well could not have treated me and my granddaughter any kinder. My granddaughter was so excited about getting fitted for her cheer outfit as this will be her first time cheering. She was bopping with excitement and Beradine talked to her and showed her everything even though we were on her time. This was such a pleasant experience! I truly thank them for their kindness and willingness to accommodate my mistake. Great people in this business! I commend you both as that is a rarity to find these days. I truly thank you both!”

“Rich is a wealth of knowledge, and was a legend in his younger years, he is one of the world’s most interesting people from his skills and history. Old age doesn’t come alone, so now his shop is more a hobby and kept alive by loyal customer base and word of mouth and is only open a few hours a day, but he is the best at many things and the shop is nostalgic.”

“If you're looking for fishing tackle and or rods and reels etc, this is definitely the go to place in the wilkes barre area. You'd be hard pressed to find a store around with more tackle, and for better prices. Most items were same prices you'd get at like Tackle warehouse and other big sites. I will travel the 45 minutes from the Poconos to go to this shop any day. 100% worth it.”

“I mistakenly picked up a size 11 woman's sneaker while on a trip and didn't realize it until we returned home. Our local store didn't have the same shoe in stock. So I thought I was out of luck. I was pleasantly surprised when I was told my shoe could be ordered and delivered to my house. The whole transaction took less than 10 minutes and the shoes I wanted arrived less than a week later. Thank you!”

“5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I want to give a big thank you to the team at this Dick’s Sporting Goods location for going above and beyond to help my family. My cousin had accidentally left his wallet in my brother’s car, and my brother was already halfway home before realizing it. I suggested they drop the wallet off at this store since I’ve always known the staff here to be trustworthy and professional. Sure enough, they came through—no hesitation, just kindness and integrity. The wallet was kept safe, and my cousin was able to come by later and retrieve it with everything intact. It may seem like a small thing, but it meant a lot to us. It’s not just about great service when you’re shopping—they’re genuinely good people. Thanks again for helping us out when it mattered!”
