“A quaint town near Philly, home to an extraordinary hidden gem. The former summer retreat of Adolf Rosegarten Jr. A WWII veteran and hero...features an amazing mile-and-a-half private estate garden with multiple themed pavilions, all wrapped in a serene natural landscape.
Walking through the grounds feels like stepping back into the timeless wonder and tranquility that nature offers. A peaceful escape filled with beauty, history, and quiet reflection.”
“I am just starting my journey. I received my box in the mail today and was so thankful. The chemo has dried out my sinuses and has left sores in my nose. The lavender stick in the box was a gift I didn't even realize I needed. It has soothed my sinuses so greatly. The other items in my box are also wonderful. When I'm healed, and my medical bills are paid off, I will be sending donations to this organization. Thank you so very much for this gift box! Sometimes it's the little things that makes the biggest impact!”
“Met with my 3rd Counselor about a week ago and so far so good. This counselor is very patient and knowledgeable and seems to genuinely care about making the process go smoothly. Some people just have a knack for minimizing stress and making things better but I’ll keep you posted through the process.”
“Such a privilege to have access to a free garden like this! The old cherry trees were surreal in bloom, and the historic house and other hidden gems around the garden make for a nice walk. The ladies working there to greet you at the entrance were so kind and explained some of the background.”
“I can't say enough about RMH. Phenomenal people, amazing place. You're not alone in a very 'alone' feeling time. Everyone is battling something so there's a certain level of comradory amongst the visitors and the kids who are fighting their battles are so inspiring and the parents are the toughest warriors. Thank God for RMH.”
“Amazing service and friendly staff! They fixed my flat tire in just 15 minutes — a job that took a whole day at another shop and popped within 5 minutes of riding. No pushy sales either. I also had my brakes fixed here for one-fifth the price quoted by another bike shop. Highly recommended!”
“Perhaps the most intriguing spiritual practice in the states, this Quaker meeting house is impeccably maintained and perfectly showcases the historical and current practice of Quakers. You can feel something special the moment you walk into the worship space (which is still used by modern Quakers!). The staff are super friendly and clearly care deeply about this historic and important space.”

“This is a really neat organization and place. I got to meet the founder, Fran, who was very hands on. They do in service days where groups can sign up and have a lot of regular volunteers. Their name may be Jewish but they are non-denominational and help everybody they can!!
They specifically provide household, personal care, clothing, and other items to displaced families and those in need. As a volunteer you basically 'shop' for the individuals within a family (they stated it is usually mostly women and children) then box up everything with labels. It is all volunteers - down to even the delivery drivers! We went with a group of about 9 people.
1. Register before you visit.
2. Follow the signs as volunteers park in the back and that is also where donations are accepted.
3. Once you are in the volunteer door, sign in on the tablets to the left.
4. Then you will be directed to hang out at some tables, with the coat rack towards the right of the door
5. You will be given a tour and explanation of what they do and then assigned work!
Everything is clearly labeled and organized. You are split up into smaller groups and they have 'leaders' for volunteers that will provide collection lists, answer questions, direct and confirm. Everything is placed in not-too-heavy boxes and labeled properly. Items this organization donated to families in need include: tooth brushes, pot/pans, socks, pads/tampons/panty liners, shoes/boots, books, toys for all ages.
You feel really really good walking out those doors after your volunteer shift because you gain this connection for those in need as you shop for them. They are super organized and pleasant and honestly I have only more positive stuff to say!”
“Very nice long trail. You may have to cross the road a few times if you walk the whole thing and parking is a little inconvenient. The trail is really beautiful though and the path is paved well.”
“Always showing a uniquely curated selection or films from the last 100+ years. Always clean and staff are always pleasant.
This place may lack frills such as fountain soda and cup holders but it’s really not an issue. Thankful we have such a place in Center City!”

“Our band recently had a gig here and they were very accommodating and the sound system was excellent. Unfortunately, they do not sell or offer food selections, but the bar is very reasonably priced. Also, there is smoking allowed in the building which is not a major issue, but I think they probably should make them go outside to smoke.”
“A treasure in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia. The offer seasons of a variety of artistic entertainment that is family friendly all set in a park environment.”
“My family went for a Sunday swim day and they really enjoyed themselves. I got there a little later than everyone but really enjoyed watching my grandchildren have fun. I did get a chance to get in the pool which is a little small but clean. Nice place for families.”
“Didn't get to take full advantage of Philly AIDS Thrift as I couldn't really buy anything breakable (and there is lots of great crockery and glassware) but the clothing section is wonderful, the store has a great atmosphere and lovely staff and I got some great items for a MEGA-IMPORTANT cause. Thank you !”
