1057 Bernard Ave, OutremontAs a child growing up in Montreal in the fifties and sixties I would go to Lester’s with my family as my grandparents lived around the corner on Querbes. I left Montreal after university .
Fast forward 50 years to today.
My wife and I are currently in Montreal visiting family and as I craved smoked meat, we decided for nostalgic reasons to go to Lester’s for take out. Great decision.
We were greeted by the Alaina who is an absolute delight! So friendly and helpful. It was truly a pleasure telling her our story and listening to hers.
The story just keeps getting better, The giant smoked meat may have been the best I’ve ever had; certainly the biggest. The meat was perfect.
The karnatzel and the poutine were also as good as it gets.
We are going to buy a whole vacuum sealed brisket before leaving Montreal take it with us to Ontario.

1045 Av. Laurier O, OutremontDon’t miss this while in Montreal. We had a wonderful dining experience tonight. The wines and meal and desserts did not disappoint. The experience was made all the better by the warm hospitality demonstrated by the staff, especially our server, Giaume. The menu was elevated, as you would expect from a Michelin rated restaurant, but it wasn’t pretentious. The flavors were familiar, but better. The experience was so positive that we found ourselves discussing whether we wanted to cancel reservations for tomorrow’s restaurant choice and return here for another round.
