“I came to them in such a bad state of stress, financially and physically, as I just had spinal fusion surgery. Jillian went above and beyond to help me explore every option to get my cat, Honey aka fat mama, the help she needed. I am forever grateful for her and her knowledge. Dr. Mercurio was also great. She called me right away and gave me different options for my situation as well as some very good information regarding Honey. All the staff I came in contact with was professional, nice, welcoming, greeted me with a smile, and was patient with me, which is so important for us cat parents when our babies aren't feeling great. I can not thank them enough. I would recommend this place first and forever for any kitty in need of an excellent veterinarian. Thee absolute best!!!”

“My Guinea pigs, rabbits and cat have all been clients here for 17+ years. They always make you and your furry family member feel welcomed and that they are the best. They are gentle and sensitive. When my guinea pigs and rabbits passed, they were so sympathetic. In all these years I would have nothing negative to say except for their lessened hours and no longer have Saturday appointments. This is a huge inconvenience for the "parents" who work. After all these years to just have that one complaint, I think that is positive and reassuring.”

In addition to the care we’ve received for Stevie, we’ve leaned on Eastside for help with our ailing young cat, Bug. They were able to bring her in very short notice and perform tests before recommending we take her to Ocean State for further testing. They were very helpful in notifying the hospital and as soon as we arrived they took her right back, no waiting as is common at vet hospitals. I’m happy to report Bug has been diagnosed with Cat scratch fever and with the appropriate meds she’s back to her usual, playful kitten self.”

“This clinic is great. We brought our cat to be spayed. She is tiny and was going into heat every couple weeks, and we had trouble finding somewhere who would do the procedure. They have a very reasonable waitlist, and the price was something we could finally afford (we were getting multiple $900-1.5k quotes elsewhere). They don’t up charge you like crazy on things like the pre-exam, calling the after hours line for questions, anesthesia, etc. It’s all very reasonable. My cat specifically, due to her size and the combo of medications, had a lot of issues immediately after the surgery. The first night was very difficult, and when we called the next morning, they were incredibly accommodating. They helped us get a sedative to use when needed, gave us a donated cone that fit my cat a lot better (and she’s so, SO much more comfortable in), gave us advice on recovery suits, and checked her wound. All on short notice, as well. They’re thorough with their explanations and making sure you understand all the info being handed to you, and the recovery process. Definitely would recommend:)”

“Dr. Melo is the best vet you will ever meet! The staff are all very friendly and compassionate too. Fairly priced as well. Recently had to put my dog down (heart failure and stopped eating and drinking) and it was the most humane process ever. They even mailed a card! You will never find a better place to bring your dog! Our dog was not eating or drinking water. He got progressively worse. Ultimately, it was Dr. LeClair that diagnosed our dog with Addison's Disease (a rare disease and an easy diagnosis to miss) which essentially saved his life.
This place is a no frills, no BS practice. These are consummate professionals who pride themselves on providing top quality care without overcharging people who love their pets.

He is very dedicated to his patients & although he retired many years ago..he is still there treating his patients most days.WAH is very busy and the worldwide shortage of vets does not help. They are overwhelmed by people bringing their babies to them. They are often booked at least a month out for routine visits. They do their best to accommodate emergency calls. WAH tries to keep their fees reasonable and will work out a payment plan with you if you're honest!Dr Mello's daughter, Dr Jodi is also an experienced excellent vet there for many years. I've heard another long time vet is retiring soon. They have reduced their hours since COVID to Monday- Friday.I highly recommend WAH.”

“First of all the VCA animal hospital I visited was on Atwood Ave in Cranston and not EP. Cranston location squeezed me in their schedule.
Efficient staff at the desk. Once in exam room with a vet assistant I was asked questions about my newly adopted kitten's health. All questions were welcomed and answered with knowledgeable info. The doctor gave a complete check up to include complimentary nail cutting.
My cat, Prince Ali, 5 months old was only living with me for a few days so I didn't know if he would be resisting the exam. He trusted the doctor and vet. assistant and enjoyed the petting from both women.
The doctor showed me how to apply heartworm treatment and how often he should receive it. And where to get the product. They offer it on site.
When it was time to leave the assistant requested that I wait a few minutes in the exam room until the lobby was clear of dogs. We had a wonderful, professional and thorough experience at the VCA on Atwood Ave. in Cranston.
Highly recommended.”
