“Stopped by this Dollar Tree on the way back from Colt State Park . First time at this Dollar Tree . Of course only went in to take a look (didn't really need anything) . Been to many Dollar Tree stores, some have more items than some of the other ones , or they have a few different items that others don't have yet. That being said, we somehow managed to spend almost $30. We found things that we can put to use in some way. ???”
“We went for the MRE’s they had, we bought a few! Also got a great deal on an outside wood fire stove! Was $119 got it for $30!! Store was neat and I appreciated the wide isles”
“I highly recommend this Ocean State Job Lot! The staff is friendly, they offer a great variety of products, and the prices are always decent. My favorite sections are definitely the food, toys, and clothing. I love that the store always has interesting new products to discover every time I visit.”
“What can I say... Job Lot is my favorite store. I love the online Crazy Deals, and I love shopping in the store to see what I find. This trip was all about panic-buying batteries for the blizzard :)”

“Every time I step into Ocean State Job Lot, I feel like I’m about to go on a treasure hunt—because you never know what gems you’ll find! From name-brand snacks at unbeatable prices to home goods that make your space feel cozy without breaking the bank, it’s truly a bargain hunter’s paradise. The best part? The variety is unmatched. One aisle might have gourmet olive oil from Italy, the next has warm fleece throws, and then suddenly—boom—there’s a kayak or patio set you didn’t even know you needed. It’s the thrill of discovery, mixed with the satisfaction of knowing you’re getting incredible value. On top of that, their Crazy Deals are like finding gold coins in your couch cushions—only better, because you can stock up guilt-free. And let’s not forget the friendly, down-to-earth staff who somehow make the whole experience even more fun. If you’re a fan of saving money, trying new things, and feeling like a smart shopper, you’ve got to make a trip to Ocean State Job Lot. Just be warned: you’ll probably leave with more than you planned—but you’ll be so glad you did. ?”
“Clean store that is well stocked with wide aisles making it easier for us folks who use Mobility Scooters or wheelchair. The staff are helpful and the store is well managed. Highly Recommend.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“Steve in the furniture department was great. We had bought a couch and it was not able to make it to the 2nd floor apartment we are in. I had asked the return policy in case a situation like this happened and he assured me that as long as the furniture was not damaged there wouldn’t be an issue. He was very sympathetic for us when we returned with the couch and helped suggest smaller options to give a try. He did let me know to really try to double check our measurements because a 2nd return isn’t as easy. Luckily 2nd time was the charm and everything fit fine. Thank you Steve for a friendly transaction on a very stressful day.”

Burlington Stores is giving its locations a major makeover. The off-price retailer has already transformed about half of its 1,115 stores and plans to complete the redesign across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. The company calls this makeover "Store Experience 2.0." Gone are the cramped aisles and confusing layouts that once defined discount shopping. Instead, Burlington is creating wider walkways, organized sections, and clearer signs to help shoppers find what they need.
Dollar General is adding more of its private label food offerings to stores, following similar moves by big retailers like Walmart and Amazon as store brands keep growing in popularity. The store is launching new items under its own labels, including ice cream, cinnamon rolls, coffee syrups, and salad dressings. The move comes as store brand sales reached $271 billion in 2024, up nearly 4% from 2023.
Daiso, the beloved Japanese retailer known for its variety of affordable household goods, is expanding further in the U.S. market. This week, the company is celebrating the grand openings of three new stores in Texas and California. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Daiso debuted an 8,000-sq.-ft. location in Beaumont, Texas, at Dowlen Towne Center, as well as two Southern California stores - a 6,319-sq.-ft. space in Van Nuys at Mid Valley Marketplace and a 5,200-sq.-ft. store in Westminster at Westminster Center.
Dollar Tree is moving into 170 former 99 Cents Only stores, marking a big shift in the discount retail landscape. The company announced Wednesday it's taking over leases in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas, with plans to reopen the stores under its own brand as early as fall 2024.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet just landed a great deal of its own, winning a $14.6 million bankruptcy auction for 11 former 99 Cents Only store locations across Texas. The discount retail chain pounced after 99 Cents Only abruptly went out of business in March, shuttering all 371 of its stores in California, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. Ollie's quickly made an opening "stalking horse bid" to grab over a dozen of the empty properties.
