“I can’t recommend Kent’s Alignment highly enough.

I originally brought my Jeep to J&S in Newport for a routine inspection. I bought the Jeep for about $7,500, so you can imagine my surprise when they handed me a work order for roughly $4,500 in repairs.

I decided to get a second opinion and brought the work order to Kent’s. I walked in at 4:55 p.m.—five minutes before closing—and asked if someone could take a look.

Pete, the very nice (and very handsome) gentleman with the glasses, could not have been more helpful. Not only did he agree to give me a second opinion, he offered to do it for free and actually stayed late to go through everything with me.

His assessment was basically: this work order is ridiculous. He walked me through what I actually needed, what I didn’t, and even pointed out some of the questionable charges and markups. There was one repair he said I genuinely should have done, and Kent’s ultimately quoted me about $1,300 for the work.

That’s more than $3,000 less than what I had originally been told.

They completed the work quickly, treated me fairly, and—most importantly—earned my trust. It’s rare to walk into an auto repair shop knowing very little about cars and leave feeling like someone was genuinely looking out for you rather than looking for ways to run up the bill.
