“As a former student who graduated from this University I can say how amazing of an experience I obtained here was. As a Team & Project Management major I quickly achieved a position after graduation as a company's real estate broker”

“I love this Barnes & Noble! It has a large selection, the layout is easy to navigate and has a cafe. The people When work there are friendly and nice. It's sad there aren't many bookstore ls anymore so it's nice this is here, and I'd love to continue supporting them as long as possible.”

“A mixed used & new book store. I’d hoped for a larger number of used but they have a fairly wide selection for the size! They also have some records, a really nice/large cookbook section, and journals.”

“I was so graciously greeted by Nicole (I only remembered because that's my daughter's name lol) She was so very nice and really helpful. I immediately felt her sincerity. I bought a selenite crystal, a large, beautiful Abalone shell and a Citrine tealight candle holder. I forgot & left without buying some sage I wanted, so I'll definitely be going back sooner than later. Thank you, Nicole...this job is perfect for you; you are a true gem!! ??”

“The hot chocolate was good, the eavesdropping even better. Cafe is sweet but the bookstore is a true star. Ended up chatting with person at front desk and got great recommendations”

“This was my second time at the Waterfire Art Center for an event. This time I attended Little City Thrifty Vintage event. There were many vendors with beautiful vintage fashion clothing, shoes, decors that you could choose from or just walk around to meet many of the business owners to know more about their shops location if you weren't able to make a purchase at that time. I did a whole walk around.”

“Thank you for steaming the mass each Sunday. As we all shelter in place, it has been a wonderful and essential part of our daily prayer and Sunday spiritual communion.”

“It’s similar to the Blick store, except they have a smaller selection with more variety. I would even recommend the 3D works store as it has a similar aesthetic and is geared towards mixed media art. The 2D store has a gift shop attached, a cafe on the second floor managed by THE sweetest woman. And RISD merch designed by the school alumni. It’s definitely a student hotspot, but it’s welcoming to any kind of artist or creative. And the staff are very friendly so don’t be afraid to ask for help.As for the pricing, it’s comparable to Blick or Jerry Artarama, and can be discounted if you’re a student. Overall, great location, good staff and affordable prices.”

“This bookstore is pretty tucked away, and confusing for first time visitors. I’ve used google maps to drive here and it always leaves you up the street. Go down that one way street, across the gated parking lot there’s an opening with a sign up top. Then stay to the left, down the stairs to a shady looking basement—that’s the bookstore. The actual store itself is your run of the mill university bookstore. It’s got affordable school supplies, overpriced snacks and JWU apparel. I’ve picked up all of my textbooks here without a problem, and 5 minutes tops. There’s an older gentleman who works the desk and has for years and he’s very polite and helpful. Ask him for help if you need it.”

“This store has pretty much everything you want for art supplies from brushes to oil to watercolors to markers and pencils. I have been there a few times to get supplies for my painting hobby that I need to be more focused on.. It's walking distance from the condo, so no parking issues for me. The staff working here is efficient and friendly.”

“Michelle was such a big help! I called ahead of time to ask if she had the books in stock and when I arrived, she had them ready to go for me. I can't thank her enough for getting me in and out of the store as fast as possible.”

“Stages of Freedom is not just a fantastic bookstore, it is also where you can sign up for informative walking tours that explore Black history in Rhode Island, you can sign your kids up for free swimming lessons, you can have a long and deep conversation with Ray Rickman about Black art and culture in Providence, and sooooo much more. They also have a small museum dedicated to Christiana and Edward Bannister. Masks are required and provided.”
