“Loved how warm and charming this location is. Very nostalgic. Food was great, service was superb, and there was live music over dinner. Nice bar area to hang out into the night. Went to the estate and tours the main rooms. Will definitely return for another romantic evening.”

“We were unsure of our travel plans so I didn't make reservations but called a couple days before to see if we could get a room on arrival. Super nice person on phone. We were in crew cab truck with 30' gooseneck trailer and stopped for fuel at the Circle K across the street. While my husband was fueling the truck I called and gave my name/phone number. We were able to drive directly across from Circle K and pull into the designated trailer parking area. Both people at front desk were pleasant, polite, and helpful. Smooth check in. We normally travel in our RV for "our own clean bed and bathroom" so I was wondering how our accommodations would be and whether it would be a restful or stressful night. I can only speak about one room and one night but THE ROOM WAS CLEAN, ALL LINENS WERE CLEAN, COMFORTABLE MATTRESS. We enjoyed a restful night. Our room was requested non -smoking and pet friendly -- it was both.
The breakfast looked good but we enjoy a Hardee's Breakfast platter that was available across the parking lot.

Rooms: Not new or luxurious but clean and functional. Comfortable mattress (the bed/mattress is tall if that is a consideration -- wasn't a problem for us). Clean linens. Only odor was of cleaning product -- not overpowering, just evidence of cleaning. Desk & chair with one other chair. Large TV. Hair dryer, coffee maker, ironing board -- did not use these

Safety: At no time any feeling of unsafe conditions for ourselves or truck/trailer. A good indication of this not only our feelings but that of our dog. This was the first time we have stayed in a hotel with our dog. The only time she thought "something wasn't right" was when housekeeping knocked on the door (at home she will alert us when concerned).

Walkability: Hardees restaurant located across parking lot.

Noteworthy details: Trailer parking was pull through in a well lighted area and could drive on around to exit”

“I'm sad to report that General Elliott Inn closed its doors in late July 2021. Kay has sold the business and moved to Florida..This has been a favorite place for us for birthday and anniversary celebrations, and excellent wine tasting events, for around ten years. Kay General (and her husband Steve Elliott before his passing) were always gracious and friendly hosts.”

“This Quality Inn is right off US 78 just a few miles west of downtown Aiken. Not a bad location. The rooms are standard, comfy beds and plenty of room to move around. But my problem was the breakfast. I spent four days here and had the breakfast three times. The fourth time, I just gave up, literally threw the whole breakfast into the trash and headed for a donut shop.

This offered breakfast covered the bare minimum of Choice Hotel's breakfast requirements: The scrambled egg thing, sausage disks, mini-muffins and such. The 2" size biscuits were hard as rocks. The waffle Iron never got hot enough to make a crispy Belgian waffle. The waffles it made were limp and actually white - no toasting to be found.

Finally, a head's up: On signing in, you will initial a paragraph that says you agree to a $1.11 PER DAY charge for insurance on the in-room safe. I told them I will not use the safe, put a big X on that paragraph then told the front desk clerk to make sure I was not charged for the item I did not intend to use.”
