“This is our favorite getaway. The rooms, cottages, services, food, everything is phenomenal. I love the peace and tranquility of low-country scenery.

Every time I went there, I always got up early to watch the sunrise. For those who love hiking or biking, they will love the natural trails here.

For golfers, it's unnecessary to say more about the May River Golf Course on their property. It's a beautiful Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.

I like riding my bicycle around Palmetto Bluff property, from one neighborhood to another, each with its own character. The center of the community is like a small downtown with a chapel, restaurants and a post office, evoking nostalgic feelings.”

“Laurie at the reception desk when we checked in was very welcoming, the rate was fantastic and the suite was clean and perfect! We only stayed one night after a project we completed in the Bluffton area-- and if we ever return to this area we will absolutely stay here again!”

“Vacation Club Owners with Marriott. Though an older resort, it has been well kept and updated. Modern fixtures and decor. Several pools and family areas as well as more quiet zones. Bike rentals available on site as well as many amenities.”

“This resort is located within walking distance of Harbour Town, within Sea Pine. Getting there was a bit of a hassle, but thank goodness our concierge provided us with all the info so that we literally skipped the line. So thank you much for the heads up! The room itself needed some TLC, the paint was chipping off, there were cracks here and there, but overall, very clean. I was on the third floor with a water view. It's unfortunate for me that I couldn't take advantage of the facility more as the weather was hot and humid, raining, and thunderstorms all through the week while I was there.”

“We love the room and the location, but our issue was with handicap accessibility and amenities we were told would be available for handicap accessible needs. We booked this place after another rental wasn't workable when they said they had ramping with matting to access their private beach area. No matting, and the front desk girl said we took it up and nothing we could do. The rooms are over 800.00 a day, and if you need accessibility to walk onto the beach, they don't have it. Otherwise, the stay has been great, but as a first-time beach visitor, the rest of our week is pool bound, which sucks not to get near the water and waves. I wish the front desk and management would have said they would put the matting back out, but said it was taken back to storage due to difficulty more than likely and she apologized we wouldn't be able to get out past the wood ramp, but that the matts are hard to maintain. I would have put it out myself had they let me.”

“Great location, very convenient access to a great section of the beach. Staff was great. It was super hot out and rooms were clean, but did not get super cool. All in all a great place and I would recommend for a beach trip.”

“The fitness center is probably the best amenity of the whole resort. Plenty of equipment and room to workout. Although the ceiling of the pool is and eye sore, and according to the reviews it has been like that for years, with some kind of foamy looking insulation or something covering it. Anyway other than that, great place to workout!”

“This hotel is centrally located to various shopping and recreational activities, most prominently some elite miniature golf courses and restaurants. The staff is truly first class. Each person you see in the hallway is eager to ask about your stay, truly making you feel welcome.
The rooms are cozy and very clean. The gym is more than adequate for a trip and the free breakfast is more than sufficient to start your day. You can fork out a ton of money for other properties on the island, or you can stay here and save your money for your shopping and trip in general.”

“My husband had a work conference this past weekend and we stayed at the Sonesta. At first, we were unimpressed with the property, but it was probably due in part to the fact that the drive to Hilton Head is so exhausting (OMG, the traffic circles). Once there, we received great service (especially from Garfield, Howie, Marsha, and Eldein). The rooms and Seacrest Restaurant interiors could definitely use an update. But the food and service at Seacrest and the bar (I forget the name) was great! The gym was also very good, and the AC was plentiful (which I love during a workout). Room service (which they do NOT have) would definitely be a plus, especially if you're going to call yourself a resort. But overall, it was a pleasant stay. Thanks, Sonesta staff.”
