“They’ve been kind and helpful for the past 20 years. They treated me with respect even when I was a young child. Great staff, great selection, and great in person game days and nights.”
“I did not take pictures. The environment is relaxing and calm. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There was so much to do for adults and children. Check online for their programming opportunities for the children”
“This is a thoughtfully curated emporium of clever items and compelling books. The staff are welcoming and very informative. Pleasant experiences in shops like these expose the shortcomings of online shopping.”

“A pleasant bookstore mixing new and used tomes ideally located on King St. While not a huge selection at the time of this writing (2024-March) there is clearly an intent to build up inventory as there is a lot of space shelf for growth. The main entry room has a nice assortment of Charleston related books followed by a long hallway lined with shelves on once side and a number of smaller rooms connected off of it, each one focusing on a variety of topics. Certainly extremely well organized and a pleasure to visit. I did find that the used books are in excellent condition as if they were curated and of the rarer sort. Worth a look. Enjoy!”
“My kids had finished all the French books from the local library and I tried to find French books online. And I found this place! There is always something new and my kids really enjoy most of the books I get for them. All the books were new and of a good quality. A few times I had questions, I was assisted promptly. My orders always arrived within a few days. And they have a good points system.”
“I recently stopped by the College of Charleston Bookstore on Calhoun Street after my facial at The Spa of Charleston, which is located on the lower level of the Francis Marion Hotel. I was looking for some local Charleston-branded gifts for my children, and I was not disappointed. The bookstore is located right next to the hotel, so it was very convenient to get to. The store was clean and well-organized, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I was able to find a wide variety of Charleston-branded gifts, including t-shirts, hats, mugs, and even some jewelry.I ended up buying a t-shirts for my two children, and I was very happy with my purchases. The t-shirts were high-quality cotton t-shirts. The designs on both items were very well-done.I would definitely recommend the College of Charleston Bookstore to anyone looking for local Charleston-branded gifts for their children. “I absolutely love this shop! The owners are so friendly and helpful, and they have the best selection of handmade gifts I've ever seen. I've bought several things from here, and I'm always impressed with the quality of their work. If you're looking for an absolutely gorgeous gift, this is the place to go!”
“Best place to get all your Citadel Fan gear. One of the best bookstores in the USA!! Their Social Media Marketing is one of the best as well as their on line store.”
“Found some pretty cool Charleston apparel in here. I'm a sucker for Vineyard Vines products, and they just so happened to have a shirt with the Ravenel bridge on the back, which was awesome. I also copped a Vineyard vines hat with Charleston spelled out on the side. The prices weren't that bad. They were standard Vineyard Vines prices: my hat was $32 and my shirt was $48. Self checkout was easy and I found the staff to be helpful.”
“Liz was an amazing tour guide. This was my wife and I first visit to Charleston and we did this to our directly after our arrival. We learned so much about the city of Charleston and it really set us off well for an enjoyable weekend. Highly recommend taking a tour with Liz.”
